Nutrition Associate assists the department in the clerical aspects of preparation for patient meal service through accurate menu processing and assisting patients with menu selection, prepares dietary information for use by kitchen personnel in preparation of meal for hospital patients, and examines diet orders and menus received from hospital units.  The nutrition associate provides meal related information to kitchen personnel.

Job Requirements

Education/Qualification

  • Licensure/Certifications: Must be able to read, write and speak English
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Experience: Related experience or education demonstrating a knowledge of normal and modified diets and the Carbohydrate counting and Protein Exchange Systems

 

Skills

  • Previous networked computer experience preferred

  • Basic typing skills

  • Good typing skills

  • Good verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work independently and complete assignments in a timely manner

  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time (up to 2 hours)

  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time (up to 6 hours)
