The Operational Readiness lead is responsible for ensuring preparation for the Operational aspect of the Suite A,B shutdown and continuity of manufacturing capability for the area upon completion. In preparation for the shutdown, the OR lead will be the single point of accountability for the following:

-Co-ordinates and aligns shifts' preparation for shutdown, inclusive of staffing plans for the duration of shutdown

-Removes road blocks

-Focus on delivering to schedule

-Manages challenges associated with operational coordination and preparation for and during shutdown

-Understands interdependence of various business systems

-Understands GMPs and process steps from OQ to GMP equipment release.

-Can plan and schedule these steps in a logical and optimal order

This role has responsibility for delivery of the plan of record for Suite AB. The Senior Manager is responsible for the co-ordination of the day-to-day activities related to asset deliverables. The activities will include short-term day-to-day activities as well as longer term initiatives within the asset. The performance and strategic objectives and direction for the asset will need to be understood and interpreted to effectively communicate and influence actions and priorities. The Senior Manager will have indirect responsibility for the direct operations People Leaders within the asset. The position will be part of the Asset Leadership Team, comprised of asset dedicated leaders from Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Tech Services.

The successful candidate needs to be strong in project management, stakeholder management, and have high agility to learn, grow and lead in a fast moving environment.

**AB Shutdown Role:**

Stays informed and consulted throughout AB Shutdown project

Develops, coordinates, and oversees a detailed plan for the Operations colleagues for the duration of the shutdown project that ensures valuable outcomes

**Operations Management Role:**

Responsible for providing leadership across shifts in support of the day-to-day running of the asset.

Responsible for Product flow through the Suite BA asset. Primary attendee for Daily Management System (DMS)

Member of Asset Leadership Team (ALT) with responsibility for Operational deliverables (coordinate collection of key input/data to applicable performance, involvement with coordination/prioritization of improvement projects, bi-directional information flow with the asset and ALT)

Inform and influence asset stakeholders to effectively balance the POR requirements with Continuous Improvement (capacity and resource constraints, cost models, competing priorities, etc.)

Anticipate and advocate for asset strategies

Dotted line reporting for direct operations People Leaders.

Drive and facilitate consistency across shifts

Thoughtful approach to shift performance and advocate for changes to increase RFT, capabilities, etc.

Compliance oversight for the asset to include

Proactive strategy : GMP readiness, cross-asset best practice advocate and champion, industry best practice awareness and implementation as appropriate

Audit point of contact including backroom strategy support, lead for audit responses strategy and drafting, and compliance with PQSs by leading CAS workflows and gap remediation

Leadership capabilities

Serves as backup to the Asset Director with ability to represent the asset at SLT, Product team meetings, audits, etc. in combination with the Technical Manager

Cross-asset leadership to drive consistency and sharing of best practices

Participation and if necessary approval of complex investigations


Educational Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree (or completion in the near future of a recognized degree or equivalent).


If holding a Bachelor's degree, a minimum of 13 years experience in pharmaceutical / biotech fields in one of more of the following areas: Technical Development/Services, Operations, Supply Chain, and Quality. Some hands on manufacturing experience required.

If holding a Masters degree, a minimum of 11 years experience in above listed field and areas.

Successful track record of Operations experience is essential including a minimum of 5 years in a people and project management role

In depth working knowledge of upstream and downstream processes within microbial or mammalian manufacturing


Excellent communication, presentation and networking skills, including an ability to communicate and influence. Clear articulation and presentation of information to enable effective prioritization.

Understands when to inform, consult or escalate. Summarizes information succinctly and accurately and provides clear recommendations based on a combination of the information at hand and applicable guidance (regulatory, competitive landscape, etc.)

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with ability to be flexible, prioritize multiple demands and effectively perform under tight timelines.

Working knowledge of enterprise systems a plus

Ability to lead and influence cross-functional, multi-disciplined teams in delivery of goals and objectives.

Previous demonstrated experience in stakeholder management and strategy development

Previous demonstrated experience of working collaboratively and working successfully within cross-functional teams

Demonstrates self-sufficiency, able to work under limited supervision.

Makes decisions of moderate complexity, sometimes with incomplete information and under tight deadlines and pressure. Makes sound decisions based upon a mixture of analysis, wisdom, experience, and judgment.
