The State of Washington Medicaid Account Executive is a consultative position that also performs tasks necessary for the support of the business and technical needs of the State of Washington Medicaid client.  This requires developing and maintaining an excellent working relationship with the client, the OptumRx corporate Account Management Team and internal support departments; in addition, develop an excellent understanding of the industry.  The State of Washington Medicaid Account Executive provides a leadership role in working with clients to resolve issues in order to maintain and improve their level of customer satisfaction as well as be a leader who has the abilities to influence change.  The State of Washington Medicaid Account Executive is also adept at the art of client diplomacy.

 

The Account Executive is a self - starter - sets example as a high - performing team member and leader; has a positive demeanor and uses knowledge and organizational skills to achieve desired objectives; exhibits ability to manage client expectations based on Catamaran capabilities; supports other team members as a subject matter expert; takes accountability for individual and team objectives.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Maintain an ongoing knowledge of clients’ business & program; as well as their MMIS vendor’s contract with OptumRx
  • Use strong industry knowledge to add value to the clients’ operation
  • Provide positive alternatives to complex situations encountered by client and manage expectations
  • Perform initial research to help determine source of technical issues, and act as liaison between external clients and internal departments to resolve these issues
  • Act in a project coordinator capacity to ensure accurate and timely completion of client projects and to the client’s satisfaction
  • Complete Service Requests to translate customer needs and requirements for OptumRx’s product support and development teams
  • Escalate client concerns where appropriate
  • Communicate with clients via face - to - face meetings, conference calls and written correspondence
  • Interfaces with internal OptumRx departments
  • Document all client-related activities using OptumRx’s tracking application, Pulse
  • Prepare periodic status reports for client and client’s MMIS vendor
  • Monitor performance guarantees / Service Level Agreements

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field from a four-year college or university, or three to four years of related experience
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret procedures, general business periodicals and professional journals
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from clients, management and technical associates
  • Ability to solve practical issues and deal with many variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Project management and leadership skills
  • Customer service orientation and relationship management skills
  • Able to travel to Schaumburg, IL and Seattle, WA offices as needed

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in executing software programs and utilities specific to OptumRx’s applications (RxClaim, RxAuth)
  • OptumRx’s RxClaim and RxAuth application knowledge
  • State Medicaid experience
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence and technical specifications
