Position Summary:
POSITION SUMMARY
 
The Outpatient  Program Manager is responsible for managing and directing the activities of patient care in accordance with the established standards of care, mental health practice and facility policy, goals, and objectives.   This position contributes to the hospital’s philosophy, objectives, educational and quality improvement efforts, while providing guidance to the R.N., BHT’s and Outpatient Program Therapists.
 
 
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
 1.      Thorough knowledge of psychiatric and medical procedures essential.  Knowledge of the DSM diagnostic criteria
 2.    Knowledge of all code procedures.
 3.    Knowledge of state mental health laws, and abuse laws, and the DHS provider agreement.
 4.    Knowledge of management theories.
 5.    Skill in Clinical Assessment, Diagnosis, and Treatment of Behavioral Health Conditions.
 6.    Skill in organizing and prioritizing workloads to meet deadlines.
 7.    Skill in telephone etiquette and paging procedures.
 8.    Skill in use of computer and microsoft applications
 9.    Effective oral and written communication skills.
10.    Ability to perform behavioral health assessment, treatment, and dc planning
11.    Ability to communicate effectively with patients and co-workers.
12.    Ability to adhere to safety policies and procedures.
13.    Ability to use good judgement and to maintain confidentiality of information.
14.    Ability to interpret, adapt, and apply guidelines and procedures.
15.    Ability to manage multiple tasks in emergencies.

Requirements
Education:Master’s Degree specializing in nursing, social work, counseling or a clinical related mental health area, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience:Three (3) years experience in a psychiatric health-care facility preferred.
Licensure:Current behavioral health licensure or RN license issued by the state of Arizona.
Additional Requirements:CPR certification and Handle With Care training within 30 days of employment and prior to involvement with any hold or restraint.   Thorough knowledge of JCAHO/HCFA, OSHA, state and federal regulatory requirements.
Successful completion of  HWC  including restraint and seclusion policies, within 30 days of employment, and prior to assisting in restraining procedures.
