What You’ll Do

As a Technical professional with a broad general knowledge of Cisco products, solutions, services, technologies and related programs. Engages with partner's senior technical leadership to support Cisco practice development and partner enablement as prescribed in partner planning process.  Assists partner enablement and growth through execution of technical / sales training, management of technical certifications and support of post-sale services model development.  Provides technical guidance as necessary throughout all stages of the sales process and engage the appropriate resources to support mutual Cisco and partner success.

Key Responsibilities includes:

Market Analysis and Planning

·       Provide input to market demand analysis based on partner feedback and observed local market trends (technical)

·       Provide input to coverage plan and capacity model based on partner needs in local market

Business Development

·       Evaluate current partner's technical readiness relative to Cisco’s technical strategy (solutions, services, product, quality of service, reputation) and identify gaps in readiness

·       Provide technical guidance and influence new and existing partners toward developing new Cisco-based solutions

·       Encourage partners to utilize Cisco technology internally and advance the implementation of a partner sales demo-center at partner facility

Partner Enablement

·       Participate in partner business planning activities by supporting development and execution of the partner Technical Business Plan

·       Assist Partner Account Manager in persuading partner to swiftly address gaps in capabilities

·       Create, execute and review a Technical Readiness Plan with the PAM and PSEM that includes measurable milestones to track progress

·       Facilitate planning and preparation of partner SEs in achieving Cisco and industry certifications

·       Ensure partner technical resources are provided appropriate products, solutions, services, and architecture training.  Engage extended team for support in trainings.  Assist in setting up training plans for the partner sales teams

·       Lead product / solution training of the partner sales teams. Promote partner self-sufficiency and offload basic training, installation, etc. to virtual (Cisco) or partner resources

·       Provide training on articulating Cisco value proposition and solution planning and positioning

·       Lead partner technical seminars, webinars, online training and one-to-many presentations

·       Educate partner on available Cisco Services and professional service resources and tools

Sales Coordination

·       Support partner SE with network designs, RFPs, and demonstration activities. Oversee partner presales activities (competitive analysis, test plans, demos, proof of concepts, RFPs and network designs)

·       Cross communicate Cisco and partner value propositions, especially between partner and Cisco field SEs

·       Proactively gather insight into strategic / high-value opportunities that the Partner is pursuing and communicate with Cisco field team

Partner Service and Support

·       Act as key contact and escalation point for partner technical issues within Cisco

·       Educate partners and promote use of Cisco remote support model and effective use of partner and customer support tools (e.g. TAC, TSN, Partner Helpline, PDI, etc.)

Personal and Organizational Development

·       Provide feedback to Cisco business units (Products and Marketing) on features and solutions gaps in current products and integrated solutions (Cisco / other vendors)

·       Develop in-depth familiarity with partners' competitive landscape

·       Actively participate and contribute to Cisco technical community

We are ideally looking for an individual with around 5+ years engineering and partner pre-sales experience

* Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

* Strong problem solving skills: ability to assess a problem and determine an effective course of action.

* 5 to 7 years’ experience in markets where Cisco competes. Technical Certifications like CCNA/CCDP/CCIE preferred.

* Have a strong command of the competitive landscape and competitive vendor strengths and weaknesses

* Demonstrate broad understanding of the other elements across the Security and Enterprise Network architecture.

* Competitive knowledge (in their area of specialization) including solution, technology and product offerings.

* Understanding and conversant about company, solutions and product strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats.
