Job Description 

::Reporting to the Director, the Patient Care Technician will demonstrates a high degree of accuracy in order entry of nursing tasks from Cerner task list, Assist in ensuring that medical information is protected within the EMR. Accurately records and distributes messages in a timely manner. Provides telephone services, including answering and directing calls, giving information, placing pages to physicians, overhead paging of safety codes, and returning calls.  Reports appropriate data to RN.  Keeps Relief charge Nurse/Clinical Supervisor informed of activities when out of the department. Notifies ancillary departments of need for patient services in a timely and appropriate manner.  Assists visitors in the Hospital as needed.  Answers call lights promptly and professionally.

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS
Effective Written and verbal communication skills in the English language.
Telephone skills.
Basic computer systems.
Typing and filing skills.
Basic knowledge of nursing care terminology and functions.
Ability to accurately interpret and analyze basic cardiac dysrhythmias
MINIMUM ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE
Six (6) months experience working as a CNA, LVN or EMT required.
MINIMUM ESSENTIAL EDUCATION
High School diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
REQUIRED LICENSURE / CERTIFICATIONS
Current BLS (CPR) Certificate required
Current California CNA, LVN or EMT License
Basic dysrhythmia certification required.
