St. Luke’s University Heath Network -  Bethlehem Campus

Sodexo is seeking a Patient Service Manager 1 to join a dynamic St. Luke’s University Health Network team at the Bethlehem campus. The SLUHN Bethlehem campus is a 525 bed fully accredited Trauma 1 tertiary teaching hospital which is one of seven hospitals in a large Pennsylvania based Health System. The position is full time with benefits and will report to the General Manager. The ideal candidate will have strong management skills in acute care nutrition services. The Patient Service Manager 1 responsibilities include:

  • Interview and Hiring process – Familiar with Sodexo processes for interviewing and hiring Sodexo hourly employees. Follows process using Sodexo established guidelines.
  •  Labor Management – Manages Patient Services Master Schedule to meet budgeted FTE levels for service. Completes employee weekly schedule in Kronos that are compliance with budgeted FTE level. Keeps budget in mind when adjusting schedule on a daily basis.
  •  Patient Satisfaction – Assists with development and maintaining of goals based on current Press Ganey scores.   Meets periodically with staff to apprise them of our progress toward goals. Utilizes Sodexo patient satisfaction toolkit to assess root cause problems and determine appropriate paths to success. Trained in service recovery.
  •  Manages KRI’s (Key Results Indicators) – knows the KRI’s for the piece of business managed. Establishes desired KRI focus and manages processes based on needs and direction stated. Able to use HT reports to track and manage KRI’s.
  • Orientation and Training – Assists with assuring initial competencies of all staff based on an established orientation program. Assures ongoing competency’s maintained through appropriate training program. This includes modified diets, safety, sanitation, etc.
  • Health Touch – Has a working knowledge of the Health Touch program. Able to trouble shoot problems and develop workable solutions when needed. Basic computer skills and proficiencies required.
  •  Production – communicates closely with production area to stay abreast of items which may be running low and/or items which patients may find unacceptable.
  •  Conducts Tray Assessments, Meal Rounds, Host/Hostess Audits – Assists with tracking tray assessments and meal rounds, Identifying problems and / or trends. Engages in effective action planning to fill any gaps.
  •  Communication – communicates problems and resolutions effectively for long term results. 

Position Summary

Provides direction for patient meal services at patient care units to ensure customer satisfaction and retention for the Company.
Key Duties
- Directs daily operations of patient meal services at patient care units to ensure employees have appropriate equipment, inventory and resources to perform their jobs and meet goals and deadlines.

- Supervises day-today work activities by delegating authority, assigning, scheduling, and prioritizing activities and monitoring operating standards.

- Establishes operating standards, implements quality improvements and communicates them to employees.

- Performs audits and prepares reports



Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree
