The George Washington University Hosptial is an urban, vibrant, 385 bed teaching hospital in the Foggy Bottom Metro of DC. Our motto, is Patients First.

 

Sodexo is looking for a Dietary / Production Manager for The George Washington University Hospital located in Washington, DC. The successful candidate will oversee 30-35 associates in a 385 Bed teaching Hospital. Good interpersonal and technical skills necessary. Very diversified Union Staff. Must have solid knowledge of Food Production / Back Of House / Dietary Management.

 

The Patient Services Manager 2 / Dietary Manager will oversees our At Your Request-Room Service Dining® patient meal production / quality / consistency / delivery and works closely with the Clinical Nutrition and Executive Chef  which includes diet review, menu development, and day to day issues or needs. Other duties include meetings with department heads, meal rounds, and meeting with nurse managers. Success will be measured by an increase in patient satisfaction through implementation of ongoing, innovative improvements as well as employee engagement. The ideal candidate has experience working directly with patients, production management and has a strong knowledge of BOH /Dietary Management.

 

The Patient Services / Dietary Manager will be responsible for the overall operation of the patient tray line to include tray assessments, quality assurance, gold checks, meal rounds, scheduling and training and development of 35 employees. The ideal candidate has previous experience in food production and dietary management as well as knowledge and understanding of managing patient meal service. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the ideal candidate for this position will have previous experience in managing a unit, training and developing a frontline staff and strong client relations.

Position Summary

Provides direction for patient meal services at patient care units to ensure customer satisfaction and retention for the Company.
Key Duties
- Directs daily operations of patient meal services at patient care units to ensure employees have appropriate equipment, inventory and resources to perform their jobs and meet goals and deadlines.

- Supervises day-today work activities by delegating authority, assigning, scheduling, and prioritizing activities and monitoring operating standards.

- Establishes operating standards, implements quality improvements and communicates them to employees.

- Performs audits and prepares reports.
 


 

 

 

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree
Basic Management Experience - 2 years
Basic Functional Experience - 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
