Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY: Collaborates with the RN to provide a safe environment for the patients. Supports an organizational culture for Service Excellence and practices the Service Excellence Standards to all customer groups.   Provides direct continual observation of patients requiring special precautions to ensure a safe environment during their hospital stay.  Sitters are responsible for remaining with the assigned patient at all times during their assigned shift.  Assists the R.N. to provide an environment conducive to safety for patients, visitors and employees. Maintains professional behavior when dealing with issues or conflicts, utilizing appropriate resources, as needed.  The concepts of the patient centered care delivery model will provide the foundation for all nursing care.

Job Requirements

EDUCATION, TRAINING, EXPERIENCE AND LICENSES/REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED:

  1. High School Diploma or equivalent required

  2. Some experience in the hospital setting preferred

  3. Possess current BLS certification upon hire and maintain certification throughout employment

  4. HWC and Verbal de-escalation completion within 30 days of hire and maintain throughout employment
