Within HR, the People Planning, Design, and Analytics (PPDA) team is responsible for:

• Architecting a global workforce planning strategy and approach that is tied to broader business portfolio movements, and introducing innovative solutions that will accelerate our ability to have the right talent in place aligned to future business direction.

• Driving organization design, organization effectiveness, and operating model engagements for our client partners. To do that, we offer comprehensive OD frameworks and fast-paced alternatives to organization design. Our approach is driven by design thinking principles (user-focused, prototype-heavy, iterative) and robust organization design research to deliver an optimized, flexible workforce.


Who You Are

We are looking for forward-thinking, non-traditional leaders to be internal consultants driving org design and org effectiveness engagements, but also drive people planning implementation within Cisco.


Our intent is to build cutting-edge org design, org effectiveness, and people planning processes that are non-traditional and can adapt to the flexible, dynamic and ever-changing technology landscape.


What You’ll Do

The role:

In this role, you will join a cross-functional team of People Planning and Org Design analysts and consultants, HR business partners, and business clients to:

• Drive organization design and organization effectiveness engagements, primarily in support of our engineering and services organizations

• Support organization transformation projects by helping with project management, participating in meetings, drawing insights from discussions, creating executive ready presentations and communications

• Conduct independent fact finding, build design options, and develop recommendations for internal clients

• Analyze workforce trends and build workforce and organization insights for the function/region

• Contribute in people planning discussions to help map and analyze talent gaps

• Contribute to the creation of  people planning scenarios

• Support the People Planning leads in developing organization models


In addition to being a People Planning and Org Design consultant, you will be expected to contribute to the team’s thought leadership, as well as efforts establish the PPDA team brand.

You will be expected to be flexible, and know how to adapt to working with different team cultures, time zones, and countries.


We are seeking high energy and qualified candidates who possess the following skills and experience:

• 7 years’ experience working in a top tier consulting firm (OD/Talent Strategy practice) HR

• Ability to understand the business and solve business issues

• Engage with senior leadership and build credibility quickly

• Structured problem solver and strong analytic skills

• Ability to navigate within functional teams and across the organization, manage multiple complex projects and deal with a high degree of ambiguity and confidentiality

• Ability to prioritize and manage competing requirements from various teams and individuals,

• Interest in technology, and Cisco in particular: the company, its markets, its transformation

• Capacity to thrive under pressure, tight deadlines, and work with highly passionate individuals

• Superior business communications (written, verbal, and graphical)

• Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to create a strong level of partnership at all levels of the organization.

• Capacity to identify areas of opportunities to improve current processes and take the initiative to design and implement them.

• Ability to develop plans and lead meetings that set strategy, objectives and projects on complex organization design problems.

• Proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint

• HR Master degree/ MBA preferred
