What You'll Do

You will leverage your experience with executing performance benchmarking, analyzing results, and providing recommendations to the engineering team regarding possible system bottlenecks, support design engineers in identifying, isolating and providing support to resolve possible issues. As a member of the Performance engineering team, you will make proposals and code changes to effect the performance improvements. You will ensure regression tracking and reporting for ongoing feature/patch updates, for Cisco Hyperflex, the next generation of hyperconverged systems.


Who You'll Work With

You will work with product management on functional specifications. You will work with the data platform engineering team to provide performance inputs. You will work with QA on test plans, and on defect fixing. You will work with product support to interface with customers using your product.   You will work collaboratively with other members of your team to deliver every day and continue to develop and enhance your expertise as a  performance engineer.


Who You Are

You have 8+ years of experience in performance engineering with ability to characterize product performance with a view to uncover potential performance issues with new features or performance regression.

You are a performance engineer with ability to troubleshoot performance issues from the field, analyze data via various techniques with scalable, distributed storage systems. 

In addition, you have experience with one or more of: 

·       Experience with benchmarking in VMWare, Windows OS and Unix environments

·       Experience in running, analyzing and performance tuning network storage systems especially NFS systems.

·       Strong experience with OLTP, Database, Data Mining, VDI and other types of application workloads

·       Good understanding and use of available tools for benchmarking and troubleshooting performance issues

·       Good knowledge of RAID, clones, snapshots, replication, NFS, CIFS and File Systems designs

·       Experience with C programming as well as Shell languages such as Bash/Perl/Python
