In this joint role as a Permanently and Totally Disabled (PTD) Claim Specialist, you'll join us on a mission to not only deliver the best customer service in the health care industry, but the best customer service. This position is full-time (40 hours / week) Monday - Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of (8:00 AM to 6:00 PM). It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime or weekends.

Primary Responsibilities: 
  • Responsible for handling case management for disability and life waiver claims
  • Take calls and make follow up calls as needed 
  • Demonstrates ability in customer service issue resolution and relationship building
  • Work in a self-directed capacity with minimal guidance
  • Solid communication skills, including the ability to listen objectively and articulate the facts of an issue verbally and in writing
  • Work effectively and partner with others to contribute to a team environment
  • Consistently meets established productivity, schedule adherence, and quality standard
Required Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma / GED
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Products, including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Outlook, with the ability to create, edit, save and send documents / spreadsheets
  • Familiarity with a computer and Windows PC applications, which includes the ability to navigate and learn new and complex computer system applications quickly
  • 1+ years of experience in customer service, both in person and telephonic
  • Data entry experience
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of financial protection products
  • Knowledge of disability claims and / or life waiver claims
Soft Skills:
  • Adhere to appropriate response and turnaround times on all requests and deliverables
  • Strong time management, organizational and prioritization skills and ability to balance multiple priorities
  • Solid conflict resolution skills 
  • Appropriately policies and procedures to ensure successful compliance with internal and external guidelines
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude
  • Be accountable
  • Treat everyone with dignity and respect
  • Demonstrate open and honest communication
