Description:

This full-time position is for a Business Analyst within PGIM, the Global Investment Management businesses of Prudential Financial. This position will support the implementation and ongoing production support of a new Investment Forecasting Model for the Domestic and International Finance teams. The forecast will be using vendor software (QRM - Quantitative Risk Management) to produce investment projections for multiple years using expected portfolio assumptions as well as stress case scenarios.

 

The Business Analyst will focus on the internally developed Investment Forecast Data Warehouse (IFDW), sourced predominantly by QRM, and associated reporting being built to support end-user requirements. This role will partner with the technology and business communities in analyzing data, recommending solutions, documenting business requirements, performing software testing, supporting project implementation and identifying/realizing workflow enhancements. The individual will regularly collaborate with members of various levels within Domestic and International Finance, the Project Management Office and Investment Operations & Systems. This is a hands on opportunity that leverages investment knowledge, technical and analytical skills, strong work ethic and interpersonal skills.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with various clients and business partners to define solutions to business needs, elicit business requirements, identify approach recommendations, document and provide production client support.
  • Software validation (development of test plans, test cases, execution of tests, review of actual vs. expected results, document results, etc). This includes all types of testing (unit, integration, regression, dual/parallel, etc.). Summarize and communicate findings at an executive level.
  • Document software bugs with the IFDW/reports (internal software), as well as, QRM (external software). Follow-up on resolution and installation into production.
  • Provide daily customer support for resolution of production issues. This includes analysis of the issue and working with the appropriate areas to resolve.
  • Coordinate software changes/enhancements based on business needs and follow-up through installation.
  • Utilize various applications -- QRM, investment risk database (iRisk), MS Excel, Cognos reports, etc. -- to facilitate ad-hoc analytical / information inquiries, streamline existing processes, define and build out new processes and perform project testing.
  • Independently prioritize and manage various project work.

  • Bachelor degree required with a major in Finance, Business, Economics, Accounting or Information Systems preferred
  • 3-5 years of investment operations, accounting or technology experience
  • Solid understanding of various investment security types
  • Experience with the Software Development Life-Cycle (SDLC)
  • Experience with business analysis and writing business requirements
  • Experience with software testing
  • Experience with data warehouses/reporting
  • Experience with QRM a plus
  • Experience using Cognos or similar reporting tool a plus
  • Experience with SQL and related tools (Miscrosoft Query, Rapid SQL, etc) a plus
  • Experience with investment accounting/reporting systems (e.g., PAM for Investments) a plus
  • Strong PC skills with proficiency in MS Excel
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to understand and analyze financial data
  • Ability to organize/prioritize tasks and work in a deadline oriented environment
  • Strong partnering and interpersonal skills
  • Good organizational skills, resourcefulness and attention to detail
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task/juggle multiple assignments and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently, as well as, in a team environment
