Job Details

Purpose and Scope:

- To establish and implement the EHS technical strategies for India, and engage with the Pfizer Board in India to drive implementation

- Provide regional environment, health, safety (EHS) liaison support to Pfizer's internal supply network within India to ensure key risks are appropriately managed, compliance is maintained, and sites are supported in maturing their EHS culture.

- Represent Pfizer externally with regulatory authorities and in wider industry EHS engagements **Key Responsibilities:**

+ Establishes and drives the EHS technical strategy for Pfizer's Indian operations, leveraging technical and wider industry / regional knowledge.

+ Secure support of the Pfizer Board in India in driving a risk reduction and EHS culture growth roadmap.

+ Influences site leadership and Operating Unit Leadership teams to ensure EHS is appropriately positioned and integrated into every aspect of operations.

+ Ensure risks within internal facilities are consistently evaluated through utilization of tools such as the Site Operating Risk model and risk reduction priorities are progressed with business leadership support.

+ Provide direct support and guidance to internal facilities on technical EHS matters, including process safety, industrial hygiene, high hazard work, environment etc., either personally or through engagement of other resources.

+ Provide support and training, to increase EHS capabilities to maintain or improve performance.

+ Work within a matrix structure that manages regionally and reports by Operating Unit.

+ Monitor internal facility EHS and site resources, capability, organization, leadership capability; and gain leadership support for improvement plans as appropriate.

+ Support internal sites with development planning for EHS resources.

+ Enable EHS collaboration across facilities and functions to drive innovation and risk reduction.

+ Facilitates effective communication and replication within manufacturing operations.

+ Provide independent counsel to EHS and site leaders on potential or actual events or changes that impact EHS performance; develops solutions and escalates issues to gain leadership support as appropriate.

+ Leads investigation processes for significant EHS events and compliance and referable compliance cases on a regional basis.

+ Represents Pfizer EHS externally with regulatory authorities and at industry EHS events etc. **Others:**

Required to travel within India (with occasional international travel), to build and maintain effective relationships with site based teams. Anticipated to be up to 30% -40% of time.

+ Timely and effective EHS support to PGS internal supply network to enable sustainable EHS performance

+ Financial Budget adherence

+ Functional Objectives and group EHS Goals

+ Core Competencies for Managers

**Accountable for:**

+ Leads the India Regional EHS strategy, providing appropriate direction, oversight and escalation to ensure compliance operations and effective management of EHS risks

+ Optimize EHS performance of internal supply network

Initiating and leading relevant Environment, Health and Safety initiatives / projects; engaging partner functions as appropriate

**Educational / Experience Required :**

+ BS Degree in Chemical or Environmental Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Health and Safety, Risk Management or a related field

+ Masters Degree in Environmental Science, Health and Safety, Engineering, Risk Management or related field preferred.

+ Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal communication skills required. **Work Experience:**

+ Minimum 15 years relevant experience, API / Chemical / heavy industry manufacturing experience preferred;

+ Strong experience in EHS training/coaching;

+ Strong in Process Safety preferred and experience with a broad range of EHS disciplines;

+ Risk assessment and risk management knowledge;

+ Experience of working with across disciplines and senior management in large organization;

+ Experience of auditing pharmaceutical or chemical manufacturing plants.
