The Pharmacy Supervisor, coordinates, supervises and is accountable for the daily functions of the Pharmacy Support Specialists and Care Team Associates. The Supervisor will audit various MAP pharmacy vendors in accordance with established standards and will assist the department with business process and policy development of programs and productivity initiatives. The Pharmacy Operations Supervisor also develops and analyzes monthly reports and a variety of ad hoc reports to support key departmental and corporate initiatives. 
Please note: This is an office based position located off of Northwest Parkway in San Antonio, TX. Office hours are 8 am – 6 pm. The Pharmacy Operations Supervisor must have flexibility with their start time. A rotating Saturday shift every 2-3 months may also be required.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Supervise the daily activities of the Pharmacy Support Specialists and Care Team Associates
  • Sets priorities for the Pharmacy team to ensure task completion
  • Develop plans to meet short and long term pharmacy objectives and initiatives
  • Writes policies, communications, correspondences, procedures and other required documentation
  • Performs desk and on-site review of all claims documentation to validate correct billing and that payment made to contracted pharmacies is supported and appropriate
  • Analyzes data obtained through audit for evidence of deficiencies in controls, extravagance, fraud or lack of compliance with applicable regulations, legislation and/or management policies/procedures
  • Presents the audit results including identified deficiencies & corrective recommendations to management for decision making
  • Conducts research on relevant Medicare specific Part B and Part D billing/reimbursement regulations
  • Provides support to internal staff, subcontractors and providers with respect to Medicare drug related issues
  • Participates in and contributes to the overall pharmacy quality improvement initiatives
  • Collects and maintains eligibility information in an appropriate and confidential manner
  • Exhibits excellent phone and communication skills while providing complete and accurate information to customers
  • Adheres to assigned schedule and quality metrics
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
  • Undergraduate degree in a related health field (6 or more years of experience beyond the required years of experience may be substituted in lieu of an undergraduate’s degree)
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT)
  • Ability to perform work at the same time supervise a team
  • Ability to perform work with minimal supervision
  • At least 1 year experience in managing call center experience
  • At least 2 years previous experience with supervising Pharmacy technicians
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a retail pharmacy and/or PBM 
  • Extensive knowledge of the Medicare Part D, particularly the pharmacy record review, claims, billing and reimbursement rules
  • Working knowledge of HIPAA Privacy and Security Rules and CMS security requirements
  • Advanced knowledge of NCPDP and other types of prescription drug claims is required
  • Working knowledge of Medicare Part B and Part D coverage guidelines and payment methodologies
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Internet and e-mail
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous auditing experience
  • Provider billing and/or reimbursement
  • Ability to delegate task appropriately to meet established timelines
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently, as well as a member of a team required  
  • General writing skills and ability to produce work free from typographical or spelling errors
