The Clinical Quality Pharmacy Lead Technician will support the UnitedHealthcare Medicare & Retirement membership by engaging with assigned providers, members and pharmacies to improve medication adherence. This position will work closely with the local URS Clinical Pharmacist, clinical quality and medicare and retirement teams in managing and supporting the high volume independent pharmacies and Providers to achieve 5 star performance on the three medication adherence measures. The Clinical Quality Pharmacy Lead Technician will be responsible to manage members that use independent pharmacies.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Member Quality of Care
    • Make outreach calls related to medication adherence, answer member questions related to adherence, educate as needed on RX benefits and document outcomes as appropriate
    • Assist local URS Clinical Pharmacist with driving 30 to 90 day script changes and increased member usage of Parata and Case Management Pharmacy Models
    • Assist with data collection, data entry, quality monitoring (EQUIPP)
    • Identify patients for medication adherence barriers and collaborate with pharmacists, providers and pharmacies to develop a plan to increase patients' medication adherence
    • Make referrals to appropriate clinical programs and/or local resources to support continuity of care
    • Additional duties as necessary
  • Pharmacy Engagement and Support
    • Collaborate with independent pharmacies and “embed” as needed to improve the medication adherence performance for assigned pharmacies
    • Act as liaison between member, Pharmacist, and health plan
    • Report pharmacy outcomes to local URS Clinical Pharmacist and health plan
  • Provider Engagement and Support
    • Collaborate with prescribing clinician to update the members care plan and address medication adherence barriers
    • Serve as a resource to support Pharmacy initiatives that will lead to better star performance and outcomes
    • Act as liaison between member, Pharmacist and prescribing clinician
    • Be aware of active Medicare and Retirement Provider incentives specific to RX Measures
    • Report pharmacy outcomes to local URS Clinical Pharmacist, Practice Performance Manager, and health plan
