The Physical Therapy Tech functions under the direct supervision of the director, supervisor, staff therapist and assistants, and when appropriate through a lead technician. The Physical Therapy Tech is responsible for preparing treatment areas, cleaning treatment areas, positioning patients, procurement of inventory of supplies, transporting, positioning and, in general, assisting patients, therapists and assistants in the successful completion of the treatment plan. The technician may also be assigned routine clerical support tasks to support the patient care process.

Job Requirements
  1. High School Diploma or equivalent
  2. Physical and Sensory Requirements:
  • Ability to read and write English
  • Ability to communicate with patients, families, staff, physicians, support agencies, vendors and others
  • Ability to evaluate and interpret information and make independent decisions
  • Ability to respond to pages
  • Ability to lift and transfer patients exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds frequently
  • Ability to tolerate prolonged walking and standing
  • Ability to deal with a variety of stressful situations including emergency response to patient incidents
