Description:

ADP is hiring a Physician Manager-Satellite Office. In this position you will provide clinical services to associates utilizing the ADP Health and Wellness Center, and to supervise the on-site staff in the absence of the Physician Manager. Provide support to any NP while on-site in the absence of the main collaborative physician. Participate in the development and implementation of programs and activities required to maintain high quality medical care.

RESPONSIBILITIES:


Clinical Services (80%):
  • Evaluate, diagnose and treat episodic (work and non work related) illnesses and injuries, as well as provide emergency medical care and referrals for conditions occurring at the satellite site.
  • Provide clinical care and counseling to the site associates with an emphasis on risk factor, health assessment and disease prevention.
  • Support the medical site(s) nurse practitioner(s) in the role of collaborative physician as stated in the collaborative physician-nurse practitioner agreement.

(The clinical services are provided with high focus on protection of associates' right to privacy and protection of confidential information).

Administrative (20%):

  • Manages the satellite medical office(s).
  • Adheres to the prevailing operational business model as determined by the medical director.
  • Collaborate with the Corporate Medical Director in planning, implementation and evaluation of the medical services at the satellite site.
  • Chair, or serve as a member of, one of the centralized non-clinical function committees (Policy and Procedure Development; EMR design and support; Response to Disaster Planning and Safety in the Workplace; Practice Guidelines and Health Promotion Programs Coordination).
  • Collaborate with the Corporate Medical Director to assure compliance with regulatory standards established by federal and state agencies (OSHA, NIOSH, EPA, etc).
  • Remain abreast of state workers' compensation and medical record confidentiality legislation and follow the ACOEM code of ethical conduct; update the Corporate Medical Director regarding state laws/regulations affecting the practice of occupational medicine.
  • Develops liaison relationships with members of the local medical community and professional medical organization for associates' health enhancement creating a community-based medical professional resource referral network.
  • Inform the Corporate Medical Director about new potential work hazards and/or community public health issues that might affect the ADP associates at the site. Participates in policy development and implementation that addresses the reported issues.
  • Function as the \"laboratory director\" for the medical facility(s) located in the state of employment.
  • Authorize the CMD policy and procedure book yearly for the medical facility(s) in the state of employment.
  • Assure compliance with Corporate Medical Department and ADP policies at the satellite medical department.
  • Act as liaison with the local HR and management.
  • Generate periodic status reports including monthly reports.
  • Represent Medical on the Safety Committee and spearhead medical responses to safety-related issues.
  • Oversee on site Medical Emergency Response Program including the Automated External Defibrillator Program.
  • Participate in budget management with Corporate Medical.
  • Perform staff recruitment at the satellite department, assure maintenance of professional certifications, outline work assignments, give performance evaluations and provide opportunities for personal growth.
  • Collaborate with the Medical Director and the on site staff in implementing health promotion programs for the satellite site.



QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
  • At least 5 years of experience in general internal medicine
  • Medical degree from a fully accredited medical school
  • Possess current valid unrestricted license to practice medicine in the state(s) of employment.
  • Current unrestricted DEA certificate and state agency regulating controlled substances if applicable
  • Board Certification in internal medicine, family medicine or occupational medicine a plus
  • BLS for Healthcare Provider certified or working toward certification
  • NPI
  • Ongoing participation in continuing medical education.
  • Excellent clinical and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to deal with associates at all levels of the company, including management.
  • Ability to maintain complete confidentiality regarding associate clinical information.
  • Ability to nurture a team spirit, which is essential in an occupational health facility for goal achievement and client retention.
  • Basic computer skills


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Preference will be given to candidates who have the following:

  • Additional experience in occupational medicine and management desired.
  • Working familiarity with the local medical community.
  • Working experience with nurse practitioners and medical assistants a plus
  • Experience with using an EMR system a plus
