The Physician Recruiter supports UHS Behavioral Health Division facilities with their physician recruitment efforts through sourcing and screening of potential physician candidates identified through the use of internal and external resources as provided by UHS.  Regularly contacts facility CEOs and/or designated staff in the facility managing recruitment.  Obtains relevant information regarding recruiting assignments from these relationships and receives direction and feedback during the course of the recruitment.  Submits potential qualified candidates for consideration and manages the candidate activity process to its end with both the hospital and physician candidates.  Maintains document records of all activity in a timely manner for reporting and reports all activity updates as needed.  Participates in assigned professional meetings and careers fairs for recruitment. Initiates, develops strategy planning and manages activity for assigned residency program recruitment activity and candidate tracking data base as required.

Essential Job Duties:

Initiates and manages full cycle physician recruitment process for assigned hospitals:

development of position profile
strategy development and activity for sourcing of qualified candidates
contact and presentation of practice information to candidates
coordination of communications and submittals to hospitals managing full cycle of activity with all parties involved to closure

Timely manages job entries on physician internet job sites utilized by department

Provides accurate and current timely recording of all recruitment activity in department database and shared department drive documents; real time communication of issues and activity to Director and colleagues.

Develops and conducts as needed direct mail, internet mail, cold calling, or other sourcing projects.

Manages assignments in department for BH Division Residency Program Recruitment initiative. Manages all recruitment activities and related reporting for individually assigned programs.  Includes (but not be limited to) contacts to program directors; communication and coordination with UHS facility management/CEO on activity plans for candidate vetting, contact, relationship development and program marketing which may include travel to residency and/or facility site for meetings and or presentations.

Completes other miscellaneous support and recruitment activities as needed – for example but not limited to: research on industry activity related to physician recruitment activities such as compensation data; physician distribution and characteristics; recruitment trends; visa sponsorship eligibility, etc.

Coordinates contact with assorted vendors and service representatives that may include: outside staffing/recruitment firms; advertising representatives; professional organizations.


Represents UHS Behavioral Health Division at physician job fairs, specialty education conferences and or residency program presentations as assigned.




Job Requirements

Bachelor's degree with 5+ years experience required.

Hospital/Healthcare system, Hospital/Healthcare Company or Physician Recruitment Agency level physician recruitment experience.Knowledge / Experience in Psychiatry recruitment

Candidate/client contact data base management, internet job boards (physician and other resources including social media), and Microsoft Office suite (including mail merge) proficiency.

Extensive experience sourcing qualified candidates using multiple mediums, including: internet job boards, other internet (Google, billions, outwit, etc.); cold calling and warm lead calling, targeted direct mail, email blasting, etc.

Internet job board entry, placement and revision competency and experience.

Highly organized, efficient at multi-tasking responsibilities at varied levels of process and completion. Self motivated with keen sense of prioritization and time management.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills – verbal and written. Accuracy and clarity critical in all aspects of communication.

Travel will be required periodically, i.e.: to attend job fairs; participate in physician conferences recruitment venues; and conduct activities with residency program presentations / meetings.
