Support the Medical Director Germany in actively contributing to the PIH GMA Europe and ES&I / WRD partnership projects in Germany to leverage the identification of external innovative opportunities and reinforce Pfizer's presence in the life science sector in Europe by:







+ Definition of strategic project goals in cooperation with all internal stakeholders



+ Alignment and cooperation with the European and Global ES&I colleagues



+ Cooperation with the Pfizer Research Units



+ Support Medical Director Germany in development of the appropriate local processes



+ Regular scanning of the local R&D environment



+ Communication with the respective biomedical research organizations/hubs



+ Strategic identification of opportunities in Germany



+ External representation of Pfizer's R&D priorities



+ Project management of research co-operations



+ Active contribution to BD and due diligence processes where appropriateExternal R&D Innovation is a mechanism to connect Pfizer with leading external scientists and biotech companies. A high profile R&D team is working closely with key internal R&D experts and in partnership with Pfizer Business Development. The goal is to create and draw on global innovative external opportunities in both the biotech and academic space to strengthen Pfizer's R&D pipeline via strategic integration of selected opportunities and to increase visibility and activity of ES&I / WRD in Germany to enhance equity image of Pfizer Pharma as integral part of a R&D based pharmaceutical company







**Qualifications**







+ MD, PhD, or MD/PhD; Chemistry, Biology, Pharmacology, Biochemistry



+ Specific expertise including clinical development and/or translational medicine. 15+ years of postdoctoral experience in biotech or pharmaceutical drug discovery, with at least 5 yrs experience within Biotech/Pharmaceutical Industry



+ Demonstrated broad scientific knowledge, strong academic and professional reputation



+ Experience in business development, alliance management, academic development or venture industry. The incumbent must be enthusiastic, out-going and focused on representing Pfizer with unquestioned integrity and will be viewed as a key German R&D contact in the local region. At least 10 years' Pharmaceutical industry experience in research and drug development



+ High degree of cross-functional collaboration



+ Ability to communicate clearly information and concepts which may be complex in nature



+ Sound knowledge of the local health care environment at national, regional and local level



+ Scientific credibility - ability to recognize scientific excellence and lead credible fact finding mission



+ Accomplished networker in the German academic/scientific community with demonstrated capability of



+ developing fruitful and mutually beneficial relationships with diverse stakeholder groups



+ Strategic and Innovative Thinking - Intellectually sharp, capable and agile scientist with a broad understanding of emerging science/technology trends and able to quickly identify, analyze, and rapidly prioritize multiple opportunities



+ Strong integrator of multiple (internal & external) functions and excellent network builder; relates well to all kinds of people across the organization and outside; builds appropriate rapport; builds constructive and effective relationships; uses diplomacy and tact; seniority allowing direct and credible discussions with thought leaders, Biotech leaders, and associated disciplines.



+ Knowledgeable about how organizations work, both across Pfizer and external to Pfizer; knows how to get things done through formal and informal channels and informal networks; understands the cultures of organizations



+ Outstanding leadership and communication skills with the ability to communicate vision and to motivate others (within and external to Pfizer) toward that vision; is effective in a variety of formal presentation settings



+ Translating strategic priorities into operational reality; aligning communication, accountabilities, resource capabilities, internal processes, and ongoing measurement systems to ensure that strategic priorities yield measurable and sustainable results







+ Recognized for her/his work ethics and integrity, professionalism, and scientific/clinical credibility providing best possible representation of Pfizer as a "Partner of Choice" to external parties
