Position Summary

Reporting to the Head of Retail Strategy, Planning, and Business Development within the Retail organization, the Planning & Business Operations team works cross-functionally across lines of business (e.g. Stores, eCommerce), eCommerce divisions (e.g. Supply Chain/Operations, Marketing, Retail, Product), categories (e.g. Electronics, Home, Baby), and brands/sites (e.g.,,,, and to execute strategic initiatives and manage key programs. The team’s core activities will include:

  • U.S. e-Commerce Seasonal/Holiday planning and execution: Leading cross-functional seasonal event/holiday planning and execution across U.S. eCommerce (e.g. developing and communicating the overall seasonal event program strategy/progress, validating forecasts/plans with Finance and Analytics, coordinating and aligning on key marketing campaigns, coordinating item lists across categories, identifying and working with Product teams to ensure implementation of critical holiday features).

  • Retail product feature prioritization/implementation: Develop and manage a framework and process to prioritize key product features for the Retail organization and partner with Product/Engineering organizations to implement prioritized requests.

  • Program management: Collaborate with the Strategy & Business Development team members to develop strategies and operating models, and manage/execute key initiatives.

  • Retail Core Engine communications: Develop and manage the Retail Core Engine Group communication strategy – including managing the Weekly Retail Business Review, centralizing access to key information, driving the planning/agenda for monthly all-hands meetings, etc.
    As the Strategy, Planning, Business Development – Planning & Business Operations Senior Manager, you’ll be managing the team’s core programs and implementing strategic initiatives as necessary. We expect you to be nimble and enjoy a fast-pace environment while demonstrating a bias toward action, and an ability to influence senior executive stakeholders. You’ll be accountable for working collaboratively with partner organizations and for delivering high-impact projects successfully and on-time.

Position Description

  • Contributes to the development, incubation and execution of approved corporate strategic projects and new business opportunities across functions, divisions and in-country operations

  • Contributes to the mergers and acquisitions (M&A) process

  • Drives the execution of multiple business plans and projects for Strategy

  • Ensures business needs are being met

  • Ensures implementation of Walmart Global eCommerce strategy

  • Promotes and supports company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity

  • Provides supervision and development opportunities for associates


Minimum Qualifications

  • BA/BS

  • 4+ years of experience in management consulting project management or relevant consulting experience

  • Experience in digital businesses

  • Maniacal about organization and attention to detail – No one will be reviewing your work but there is lot at stake

  • Ability to manage stakeholder expectations

  • Ability to plan and estimate work.
