Pfizer Andover MA is looking for an energetic, self-motivated, and innovative individual for an Entry Level Engineer position that can (working in conjunction with Senior Engineers and Asset Managers) demonstrate the successful delivery of detailed engineering design packages on capital projects. In addition to the basic qualifications listed below, the successful candidate must be a collaborative team player, capable of handling multiple tasks, establish and manage priorities, and have a strong drive to deliver a quality project for customers.

Candidate shall work with Senior Engineers and Asset Managers to develop and implement engineering and design concepts for multiple central utility and process utility equipment projects. The candidate shall also have an understanding of the development of design documents and deliverables through the conceptual, preliminary, detailed, and construction phases of a project (P&;IDs, distribution plans, specifications, etc.). This person will be responsible for coordinating with internal and external resources and engineers, as well as the client, asset managers, construction managers, vendors, and subcontractors. Project sizes will vary and consist primarily of central utility or process utility projects including existing building renovations / retrofits and new construction.

The ideal candidate will have previous facility experience within a Pharmaceutical or similar GMP/GxP clean room environment and must have general familiarity of utility equipment supporting a GMP/GxP manufacturing facility.

Ideally the candidate will also have experience with leading/managing teams and projects


Developing Conceptual and Basis of Design level design approaches inclusive of high level scope and cost estimations to be used for capital and expense project funding

Ensures compliance with local, state, federal, and international codes and regulations.

Provide technical engineering support for GMP/GxP utilities to Asset Managers and front line operations.

Perform Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) in support of reliability efforts, preventive maintenance creation/optimization, and lifecycle analysis.

Review equipment shop drawings for conformance to site and project specifications.

Create, edit, review and approve project drawings.

Develop scopes and drawings for various infrastructure utility projects.

Read and interpret mechanical drawings and P&;IDs. Ability to update as required for change control and accuracy.

Revalidation of GMP/GxP equipment/systems

Aggressively support and adhere to site safety goals, procedures, requirements and initiatives

Maintain detailed project schedule of all tasks inclusive of milestones and projected time-lines to assist in resource loading and visual management.

Developing / updating of site master and construction specifications.

Developing utility consumption summaries for plant utilities.

Developing/as-builting P&;ID's, equipment plans, plant / process utility distribution plans, and system details.

Provide construction assistance in the form of submittal reviews, RFI responses, and field visits to verify construction of Mechanical / Utilities scope is executed per the intent of the design, and assisting in start-up of systems when required.


Degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering preferred

1-2 years of experience, preferably in a design firm setting and/or GMP/GxP facility

Familiarity with commercial/industrial central utility equipment within a GMP/GxP manufacturing facility.

Experience with FMEA and reliability methodologies in support of Life Cycle analysis

Experience in reading and interoperating basic building/mechanical/plumbing/electrical drawings

Experience with project management inclusive of working with multiple external contractors, vendors, and construction management teams as well as maintain a project schedule and project budget.

Proven leadership skills

Excellent communication skills in all forms (face-to-face, telephone, video, and written) required.

Ability to understand and work within a regulated GMP/GxP or similar environment.

Experience with documentation practices within a regulated industry
