POSITION PURPOSE:  A working supervisor, available 24/7 to monitor Facility Dude Maintenance requests via email; to determine if immediate action is required to insure that Environment of Care Standards are compliant for Patient Safety and Security. Responsible for the repair and maintenance of the physical plant; troubleshooting and repairing plumbing, HVAC, and electrical systems.  Responsible for the supervision of the plant maintenance staff, and the management and implementation of the preventive maintenance program.  Responsible for work assignments, quality control and quality assurance of all work performed by plant maintenance personnel.  Assist the Director of Plant Operations and Environment of Care in supervising & training other departments; implementing a facility wide safety program, including a system for inspections and corrections. Additionally, will assist in ensuring facility maintenance is environmentally safe and compliance with all facets of the environment of care program. Assist with department budget.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Ensure compliance with all local, state and federal regulations.

  2. Monitoring Facility Dude email request 24/7 to determine the urgency and priority of the request. Scheduling and dispatching personnel for emergent and routine repairs.

  3. Assist in developing and implementing department policies and procedures.

  4. Ensures ongoing training for staff.

  5. Ensures customer satisfaction to all patients, visitors, and staff.

  6. Records plant operations program that is reported to Environment of Care Committee.

  7. Covers work areas as needed.

  8. Distributes daily work assignments.

  9. Electrical and plumbing maintenance and repairs.

  10. Carpentry, building repair and other duties as assigned.

  11. Preventive maintenance.

Job Requirements

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:  Strong verbal and written communication skills.  Knowledge of fire and safety code, JCAHO requirements, state and federal regulations as it relates to plant operations and broad knowledge of plant technology.

EDUCATION:  High school graduate or equivalent.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:  Valid Class C driver license.

EXPERIENCE:  Must have a minimum of 5 years in general plant operation and building construction.  Supervisor experienced required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT:

*          Requires walking and standing for prolonged period of time.

*          Requires full range of motion, manual and finger dexterity and hand and eye coordination.

*          Requires lifting 25 to 100 pounds.

*          Requires frequent pushing, pulling, kneeling, stooping and bending.

*          Requires repetitive use of hands.

*          Requires hearing and vision sufficient to perform essential functions.

*          Requires some exposure to communicable diseases or bodily fluids
