The PLANT OPERATIONS TECHNICIAN is responsible for maintaining the facilities planned maintenance program by performing preventative and corrective maintenance tasks, maintaining required documentation, repairing equipment malfunctions and performing basic to advanced building maintenance while ensuring a safe and risk preventive environment within the requirements of The Joint Commission, OSHA, and related governing agencies.   This position also monitors and maintains the facility grounds and responds to maintenance and or emergency situations as needed or requested.

Key Responsibilities include:

  1. Performs and documents preventative and predictive maintenance on all major equipment; performs daily scheduledpreventative maintenance tasks in accordance with department procedures.

     2. Keeps cleaning supplies and equipment safely stored when not in use and away from patient access when in use.  Maintains work areas in a professional and safe manner.

     3. Assists the Director of Plant Operations as needed.

     4. Inspects and maintains documentation of sprinkler valves, fire doors, fire alarms and smoke detectors.


Job Requirements

Position Requirements:

Experience:   A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in maintenance experience in a health care facility is preferred.  Electrical, plumbing and general HVAC maintenance knowledge is preferred.

Additional Requirements: Must be able to work with minimal supervision, be a self starter.  Will be at times required to work variable shifts, overtime hours to meet hospital operational needs.
