The Business Entity

The Advanced Delivery Network (ADN) as part of Cisco Advanced Services (AS) organization helps customers optimize their IT and network investment and drives the adoption of technologies and business solutions. A key component of the Cisco Advanced services portfolio is our ADN Project and Program Management capability and expertise. The PM Manager is responsible for the leadership and management of a team of Project Managers & Project Specialists, ensuring alignment with Cisco and Customer business goals, objectives and priorities.

A key element of the role is to attract and retain talented and highly skilled Project Managers/Project Specialists and manage their career development to meet the needs of Cisco and our customers. The team will be responsible for the successful management/support of a large portfolio of complex and challenging projects in Amer, Latam & Canada regions, working across all customer segments (SP and Enterprise) and involving full Cisco technical domains and product catalog. The PM team is responsible for the successful delivery of customer projects, achievement of customer acceptance criteria and that the project meets the expected Cisco business results (cost, margin, revenue, CSAT and compliance).

Key Objectives

  • Facilitate compliance to PM processes, functions, templates to help ensure consistent and exceptional delivery by our project managers & project specialist resources
  • Lead and manage resource to guide them functionally, help facilitate career growth, develop skillsets for future business needs and adapt to Cisco and external environmental changes with agility and success
  • Assign resources to various engagements and act as a point of escalation for management issues that may exist while interacting and collaboration with engineering delivery manager
  Major Roles & Responsibilities

  • Provide oversight and direction to the PM team in accordance with the AS /GPMO standards and procedures as part of the Overall Services Delivery team
  • Guide the PM teams functionally on Cisco business results (cost, margin, revenue, CSAT, and compliance.
  • Coach, mentor and develop PMs, including new employee onboarding and providing career development planning and opportunities.
  • Work with Human Resources Team & Partners to recruit, interview, select right skill, hire, and employ an appropriate number of PMs for Productive utilization.
  • Empower PM team to take Delivery responsibility for their tasks and promote innovation culture with focus on automation.
  • Capability to lead a team, drive change and influence people to improve and enhance their delivery. 
  • Facilitate PM delivery feedback from the customers/Stakeholders and strive for improving quality & CSAT
  • Stakeholder Management, high personal impact and ability to work across the Cisco organization to align priorities, resources and capabilities with customer needs
  • Maintain transparent communication and appropriately communicate organization information through department meetings and regular team/interpersonal communication.
  • Work closely and collaborate with other Managers in the ADN/GPMO services team for effective Delivery.            

Required Experience:

  • Experience having created or set-up a Project Management Office
  • Typically requires Bachelor of Engineering /Technology, Master of computer application, MBA  or equivalent
  • 15+ years of overall experience in a Consulting /Services Organization with a minimum of 10 years in the Project & Program Management and 5 years in people management.
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and management skills
  • Experience in managing Global PM/PGM teams
  • Work experience with American/LaTam/Canada customers.
  • Excellent English &Spanish Speaking Skills-Written and Verbal
  • Possess a Good attitude and a team Player.
  • PMO certification or equivalent studies/proven experience

Desired Experience:

  • Technology Infra Structure Project Management experience
  • Has demonstrated clear leadership skills and experience working with large Enterprise/Service Provider Clientes
  • Cisco Technology domain experience.
  • Global project and strategic account teams.
  • Understanding of Large Corporations organization structure, operating mode, delivery policies, processes and tools
