The Portfolio Management team, operating within Pfizer Essential Health (PEH) business unit is responsible for supporting growth by expanding the generic pharmaceutical product portfolio through asset sourcing (finding opportunities with generic manufacturers or inline products coming off patents/Peri-LOE) and working through operational business development transactions.

The Portfolio Management Lead will have oversight and accountability for new business initiatives and product lifecycle for over 100 active pipeline projects across the US Institutions (Sterile Injectables and Biosimilars) and Retail & Government (Greenstone, Peri-LOE, mature products) businesses that total ~$7B of annual revenues within Pfizer Essential Health (PEH) . The position reports to the Essential Health US President for Retail & Government. S/he will lead and set the strategy for a team focused on asset growth and sourcing.


Works closely with the US Presidents and their leadership teams to lead and provide strategic direction on portfolio management, priorities and programs for the Essential Health US businesses

Identify new business partnerships and opportunities for authorized generics, promotable generics, and Peri-LOE brands

Leads a team that is responsible for the transition and tracking of projects from opportunity identification into commercial planning and execution across Essential Health US

In partnership with Chief Business Office teams and worldwide business development, maximize portfolio value and drive growth in our ongoing pipeline approved by PSTs, LOE lifecycle, new launches, and from external partnerships and alliances

Commercial accountability for all US projects that are managed under the Portfolio Steering Teams

Identify opportunities and provides guidance on business cases and financials in collaboration with Global, Business Alliance, Business Analytics, Portfolio Decision Analysis and Finance

Secures strong partnerships and alignment with stakeholders across commercial, R&D, global, PGS, PSTs, BD, Finance, BAI, Portfolio Decision Analysis, etc

Provides leadership, management, and coaching for the Portfolio Management Team


15+ years of broad pharmaceutical experience (sales, marketing, operations, finance, project management); US Commercial experience in the Essential/generics business segment is preferred

Bachelor's degree required, MBA preferred

Prior experience in New Business Development, particularly in the Generics industry strongly preferred

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with demonstrated initiative, strategic thinking and creativity

Financial expertise, ability to understand drivers for P&L optimization and constructed business cases around product opportunities

Proven ability to work collaboratively to identify opportunities and trends as well as support business growth ideation and recommend courses of action

Demonstrated track record in working with and influencing people and multidisciplinary teams in a complex and fluid environment

Must possess excellent written and oral communication, listening skills, influence / negotiation prowess and relationship management capabilities with proven ability working in matrix organization

Position to be located in New York and reports to the PEH US President, Retail & Government
