Description We are seeking an experienced chemical engineer for a post-doctoral position in the hydrogenation group within Chemical Research and Development (CRD) in Groton, CT. CRD is responsible for the development of technology for the production of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs). The goal of this postdoctoral position is to conduct original research in the development of trickle bed reactor technology suitable for API processes, studying the interaction of hydrodynamics with catalyst and reactor performance. Key portion of the research will be understanding the mechanism of catalyst deactivation present in such rectors, utilizing a combination of process models and experimental set ups.



**ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES**



The successful candidate will assist in the design and execution of a research project to develop trickle bed reactor technology



The candidate should thrive in a collaborative environment, seeking input from a wide variety of resources.



The successful candidate should possess the willingness to learn and apply new technology to process development challenges



A strong working knowledge of catalysis and process modeling, excellent laboratory skills, an awareness of analytical methods and a commitment to safety are required.



Some experience with hydrogenation processes is desirable.



**QUALIFICATIONS**

PhD. in Chemical Engineering (or within 6 months of completing a Ph.D. program) and 0 to 2 years of industrial experience
