*Role Description*

We have an exciting opportunity for a talented, enthusiastic and independent Postdoctoral Fellow with demonstrated experience in transplant rejection or cancer immunology to work on improving the persistence of allogeneic CAR-T cells.



*Responsibilities*

This Postdoctoral Fellowship will be part of a joint collaboration between the Protein Engineering and Cancer Biology departments. The Protein Engineering department has a strong track record of success in developing world class methods and technologies and using them to generate novel antibody therapeutics, including chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cells. CAR-T cells have entered the clinic and have demonstrated very strong potency in the treatment of hematological malignancies. Pfizer is committed to developing allogeneic CAR-T cells in order to provide more patients access to this potentially transformative cancer therapy, but improving their persistence may be paramount to their success and widespread dissemination. Your goal will be to develop protein engineering based solutions to improve the persistence of allogeneic CAR-T cells, and demonstrate their ability to suppress allorejection in vitro and in vivo. The candidate must have a strong background in immunological techniques including in vivo models; further knowledge in transplant rejection or cancer immunology would be a significant advantage.



*Qualifications*

The ideal candidate will have:* PhD in Immunology, Cancer Biology, or Systems Biology with prior research experience in transplant rejection or cancer immunology is preferred* Highly motivated, independent, with a strong passion and commitment to science * Proven ability to independently design and execute incisive experiments and interpret results * Outstanding communication skills, pro-active attitude, innovative thinking, and strong desire to contribute* Strong track record of publications* Ability and desire to work in an interdisciplinary scientific team and the desire to learn new techniques
