<b>Who You'll Work With</b>
Component Engineering’s Mission is to enable Cisco Product Excellence by ensuring Component Manufacturability, Quality and Reliability.

As a member of the Component Engineering (CE) team, the candidate will be assigned specific CE responsibilities and become the Cisco technical resident expert for Power Supply. 

<b>What You'll Do</b>

  • Assessment and Qualification of New Power Supply Technologies and Processes
  • Partner with Cisco Development Engineers, Commodity teams, and Suppliers/Partners to develop next Generation Power Supply Architectures to meet Cisco requirements
  • Partner for assessment and qualification of New Power Supply suppliers
  • Define, Maintain, and Drive Cisco Level One Power Supply Qualifications
  • Partner to develop Power Strategy, Supplier selection, and perform Supplier Technical and Process Audits
  • Support new Power Supply development activities. Activities include:
    • Review Power Supply Functional Specification
    • Supplier Manufacturing Test, Burn-in, ORT
    • Reliability demonstration test
    • Weekly development meetings
    • Design review
    • DFx
    • Supplier’s Process Capability
    • Supplier reliability qualification test reports and documentation
  • Maintenance and Change Management, including technical evaluation of the changes, of Cisco Approved Vendor List
  • Cisco Power technical interface and expert
  • Point of escalation to drive component failure analysis, containments, and corrective actions - interface with manufacturing management and engineering management to resolve complex technical problems

  • Thorough power supply Design, Qualification, Architecture, Manufacturing, Test, Assembly, Quality, and Reliability knowledge and experience
  • Teamwork and Collaboration. Participating and leading cross organizational teams

  • Ability to work Effectively with an Overview of Business Direction and Technical Direction
  • Ability to Program Manage multiple Technical projects. Tactical skills, like managing day to day work, and work towards long term goals
  • Interface with internal and external stakeholders via periodic summaries and project status overviews
  • Ability to effectively drive & implement new Processes, Process improvements, and corrective actions
  • High Level of Motivation and Energy
  • Effective Cross-functional Communication. Excellent interpersonal, Team Skills and Presentation skills
  • Typically requires MSEE or equivalent plus 10+ years Power Supply Design and Manufacturing experience
  • Familiarity with government regulatory (safety, EMC) requirements
