What You'll Do:

The Business Development Manager plays a key role as the planning lead for the Cisco Security Services Innovation Team and acts as a business advisor to the Security Services senior leadership team. The BDM will drive key business initiatives in conjunction with the Security Services Innovation team spanning inorganic growth opportunities, security market analysis, and partner strategy in support of our portfolio delivery. The candidate will lead business planning activities for new offerings, working closely with Security Services leadership, portfolio management teams, product management teams and GTM functions. 


Responsibilities include 


Analyze, develop and present solutions to CXO level executives

Work with Cisco's senior execs, business entities and sales teams to formulate strategy and drive strategies and new solutions.

Drive activities associated with strategic account planning and project management

Lead cross functional teams to complete projects and major initiatives

Aggregate and analyze account roadmaps, opportunities, business models, and solutions

Ensure a coordinated and consistent customer engagements within identified GET and Enterprise accounts

Facilitate collaboration and development of new products within accounts; manage large projects - Build and manage a team of people to scale and support ongoing programs

Ability to travel up to 25%

The Business Development team of Cisco’s Security Services provides pre-sales support to our customers, complimenting sales teams and solution architects through communicating value, architecting solutions, scoping work, and closing deals. This key interface between our customers and delivery teams allows our services business to continue to evolve through market feedback. Our business development managers and architects play a key role in customizing solutions for clients.

Minimum Qualifications

The ideal candidate must demonstrate knowledge of Cisco processes, ability to lead strategy development based on collaboration with stakeholder organizations, be able to directly and indirectly influence a team to operate consistently, and have superior employee management and coaching skills. The position requires a strong ability to bring people together from across the company to accomplish a wide range of strategic and operational programs. He/she must be able to balance strategic thinking, detailed planning, balance execution of many programs at one time, and maintain a consistent metrics cadence. The candidate must be a strong communicator, manager and cross-functional leader.

• Must have demonstrated strong project management skills, including ability to manage virtual teams with members from a range of functions, skills, and reporting structures.

• Strong written and oral communication skills. Written communications include PowerPoint presentations and vertical documents (word and email). Oral communication skills should be demonstrated in delivering presentations to C-level business executives and also facilitating more interactive business discussions with those executives (project scoping, deal negotiations, problem resolution, etc.)

• Demonstrated client relationship skills. Record of developing collaborative working relationships with VP, and SVP-level executives in Fortune 500 accounts

• Experience in security and services strongly preferred - Individual must have demonstrated the ability to effectively persuade sales, business and technical decision makers to make investment in new or emerging solutions or business models.

• Must have strong strategic and financial analysis skills. Demonstrated ability to characterize market dynamics, competitive dimensions, purchaser decision-making criteria, and extrapolate to derive unique insight. Financial analysis capabilities should range from overall corporate financial statement analysis to ROI/NPV calculations for specific projects and investments.

• Prior experience in consulting sales and consulting practice development

• Requires BA/BS, MBA preferred and 15+ years related experience in strategy and/or business development, preferably in the security and services industries.
