**ROLE SUMMARY**



This position supports translational and precision medicine strategies through technical oversight and management for sample collection and vendor engagement processes involved in the implementation of early clinical biomarker plans. A successful candidate is able to communicate effectively, has a broad knowledge of biomarker assay platforms, and is able to work both independently and collaboratively in teams.







**ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES**







+ Provides bioanalytical assay technical and operational expertise to study teams to ensure delivery of high quality clinical biomarker data



+ Ensures timely biomarker assay development and fit for purpose validation



+ Contributes biomarker-specific language to clinical protocols and laboratory manuals as needed



+ Leverages external contract research organizations and vendors along with appropriate internal laboratories to execute biomarker analyses; provides technical support for selection and qualification of CRO labs supporting clinical trial biomarker assays



+ Key point of contact for internal labs and external vendors with oversight responsibility for service agreements, work plans, budget and invoices, assay transfers, assay validation, bioanalytical reports, sample shipments, sample analyses, data delivery timelines, data transfers and overall data quality



+ Responsible for compliance around clinical biospecimen management and vendor oversight



+ Consults on technical aspects of biomarker-related natural history studies, consortium work, or academic collaborations when needed







**QUALIFICATIONS**







+ B.S. or M.S. with 5+ years experience in clinical laboratory sciences and/or significant experience in biomarker assay development required. Industry experience preferred.



+ Candidate should have a good working knowledge of the application of various biomarker technologies (eg. flow cytometry, ligand binding assays, mass spectrometry) as well as various high dimensional exploratory platforms (eg. transcriptomic, proteomic, metabolomics)



+ Assay problem solving and analytical skills; ability to resolve technical issues that may arise during method development, assay validation, and sample analysis



+ General knowledge of clinical laboratory regulatory and compliance requirements and clinical trial process preferred



+ Able to work independently as well as productively within a collaborative team



+ Demonstrated ability to develop positive and collaborative partnerships with internal colleagues and external contractors



+ Ability to manage and contribute effectively to multiple projects at once



+ Highly effective verbal and written communication skills
