Position Description:
POSITION PURPOSE
The Pricing Analytics Manager II will be responsible for lifecycle management for one or more of the following tracks: (1) business intelligence solutions or (2) data analytics in massively parallel processing systems not restricted to Teradata and Hadoop. The Manager will also be responsible for risk management and knowledge management; anticipate and plan remedial action on contractor/associate churn, project, and infrastructure constraint; ensure shadowing of contractors on development and execution of key processes along with maintaining documentation.
Will have responsibility for directing contract labor.
MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
30% - Solution Implementation: Build repeatable analysis into scalable statistical models, data acquisition and aggregation processes, or dashboard reports. Getting work done through a larger team (delegate work to contractors and associates on the team; screen and hire contractors).
20% - Interacts with business users and IT project managers to understand requirements, turn requirements into specifications, and engage data engineers for data acquisition, staging, and system implementation.
20% - Ad hoc analysis: Acquire, blend, and analyze data for actionable insights to drive potential business opportunities. Use appropriate algorithm / technique / tool in to mine knowledge from data.
20% - Support and enhancements: Execute and incrementally enhance artifacts along with incremental delivery, repository, and change management.
10% - Execute project management activities for deliverables including scope and release management, estimation and tracking reporting progress and insights. Project planning and communication (identify key success factors, monitor, and report progress on actuals vs. projected).
NATURE AND SCOPE
This position reports to Sr Manager Pricing Analytics.
This position has 0-3 direct reports.
ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
Environment:
Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Travel:
Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.


ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must be eighteen years of age or older.
Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
Education Required:
The knowledge, skills, and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.
Years of Relevant Work Experience: 5 years
Physical Requirements:
Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions, there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
Additional Qualifications:
Bachelor s degree in CS, Engineering, Statistics, or Mathematics.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Competencies:- Alternative requirements: Master s degree in CS, Engineering, Statistics, or Mathematics and 2 years of relevant work experience.
- 5 years (2 if with Master's) of experience in supporting retail, merchandising, inventory management, or finance solutions
- 2 years (1 if with Master's) of Pricing experience
- Expertise in developing econometric models, including demographic and psychographic data
- Experience estimating elasticity, cross-elasticity, attachment, and substitution
- Experience with Pricing concepts such as line structure, mix shift, breakeven, customer segmentation, and localization
- Ability to effectively communicate insights and progress with non-technical business owners, sponsors, and stakeholders
- Competent to leverage underlying architecture features of the tool(s) in the solution
- Experience with data analytics: experience in Hadoop tools such as map-reduce, hive, pig, etc. and/or Teradata along with advanced SQL and UNIX shell scripting and ETL tools to move data; and experience with business intelligence solutions
- Experience in Tableau 8 and above and ability to visualize complicated data insights.
