Job Title: Principal Application Developer

Location: Pasadena, CA

Job Duties:

ADP Technology Services, Inc. seeks a Principal Application Developer at our Pasadena, CA location.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Build services and recommend appropriate solutions to business problems. Research, design, develop, and modify enterprise-wide systems/applications. Prototyping solutions, recommending adoption of new technologies, and continually improving our client experience. Support development and deployment of application software releases to production and non-production environments. Lead and drive code quality and maintain application stability in an agile environment. Collaborate with architectural peers, product owners, UX/UI, internal/external stakeholders, and globally distributed teams to understand requirements and develop applications in compliance with client needs. Assist in the development of overall project plans and timetables, and analysis and identification of intermediate deliverables. Define engineering best practices and mentor teams to write elegant code using effective automated unit tests and Test Driven Development (TDD) methodologies. Develop specifications for new products/services, applications, and service offerings.

Education and Qualifications/Skills and Competencies:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field and six (6) years of experience. Employer will accept a Master's degree and four (4) years of experience.

Work Experience:

Experience must include: Software engineering experience with knowledge of advanced Java concepts, including multi-threading, data structures, and collections; Java Enterprise platform and other Java related technologies, including Java, JSP, Hibernate, multiple databases, Web Services, and SOA using micro services; Building enterprise software applications in MS Windows and Unix/Linux Operating systems; Full software lifecycle SDLC, including design, build, develop, implement, test, and support sophisticated enterprise applications; Working with product management, architects, and other stakeholders towards application development; Developing complex enterprise applications using Java, Hibernate, Spring, and databases, and deploying on application servers, including Websphere, Weblogic, Apache Tomcat or Jetty; Building highly scalable applications using public cloud services, including Amazon Web services; Version control tools, including Mercurial, Git, CVS, and SVN; and Project tracking tools including JIRA and Rally.
