The AT&T entertainment group is seeking an energetic network expert to fill a strategic role in support of their video backhaul networks. The candidate that will best fit this role is one that has an extensive network operations and engineering background. They should be able to understand end-to-end designs, IP based video delivery, video compression and delivery standards and have the ability to apply this to its use delivering video over a massive IP-based network. They should have the ability to communicate well with both technical and non-technical audiences, evaluate change activities to assure successful and non-impactful completion, drive complex incidents to resolution and actively participate in design activities with a focus on making company initiatives successful with the completion schedule and launch while making sure that long-term operations needs are fully met.


+ Become engaged and help drive complex incidents that areimpacting services

+ Drive the definition of network architecture requirementswith a focus on service management, communicate and drive these with engineeringand architecture teams

+ Evaluate current and future network architecture states andhow those will impact the operability and success of those overall services tobe launched

+ Summarize key findings from the network and providerecommendations to the leadership team

+ Maintain and open and productive relationship with theengineering and architecture teams with a focus on overall success with allnetwork initiatives delivering services

+ Configuration and testing of various networking equipmentfor production rollout.

+ Configure Cisco and Juniper routers and switches per networkdesign specifications

+ Configure, troubleshoot and support Brocade ADX and F5 Loadbalancers

+ Remotely diagnose and trouble shoot network equipment during rollout phase.

+ Interface with vendors to resolvetechnical issues with their equipment

+ Interface with other designengineers to create/modify configuration templates

+ Work with various system vendors on evaluating new systems and solutions aspart of next generation video distribution architectures and provide recommendations.Systems include routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, content cachesetc.

+ Assist in testing, troubleshooting and resolution efforts when systems failuresoccur and interface with network operation teams.

+ Assist in evaluating new systemsoftware and develop method of procedure for network upgrades

+ Manage network-related projects,activities and tasks.

+ Maintenance window work will be required

+ 7+ years of experience in networkingindustry.

+ B.S. (or higher) in computer scienceor equivalent.

+ Strong fundamental network expertisein routing, switching, multicast, load balancing and the use of networks forservice delivery.The ability tounderstand those service and how they utilize the network. Thesuccessful candidate should have a strong desire and ability to learn and adaptto new technologies and new concepts.

+ Strong knowledge base in Cisco CRS, ASR, Nexus and 7600series routers and switches. Also, experience with legacy Cisco products andtools (routers, switches, security, monitoring/management and othercisco/network products), Juniper routers, F5, Brocade and software based loadbalancers

+ Strong knowledge in IPinternetworking - MPLS (MPLS VPN, TE), IP routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, ISIS),Quality of Service (QoS), IP multicast, IGMPv3

+ Should have good knowledge of LANswitching protocols, and Security components such as VPN, Cisco Firewalls,Cisco ACLs and network based security functionality.

+ Require excellent written and verbalcommunication, negotiation and presentation skills. The ability to workeffectively and independently, defining and driving the correct agenda daily

+ Solid analytical skills to solvemedium to complex technical problems

+ Ability to learn quickly utilizingself-learning opportunities

+ Cisco and/or Juniper certification

+ Travel frequency is negotiabledepending on location

+ Strong leadership skills, includingchange management and team building

+ Experience with communicating acrossmultiple levels of the organization, cross-functional collaboration, andpresenting status updates to large diverse audiences


+ Experience supporting a 24x7operational environment with unforgiving customer expectations driving industryleading service availability SLAs
