Looking for a candidate who has excellent skills in Performance Engineering and Devops concepts. The newly formed NexGen PayRoll team is looking for an advanced Principal Performance Engineer capable of full-stack Performance Engineering. This opportunity is a chance to join a high performance software team that will develop Nextgen Payroll solution on cloud platform.


  • Ensure quality of micro service applications and cloud infrastructure by validating Performance, Stability, Scalability, and Reliability in NextGen solutions
  • Participate in daily standups and Time box planning in agile environment
  • Responsible for preparation and execution of Load, Stress & endurance test scenarios
  • Designs, develops, and maintains load testing scripts and framework
  • Devise right suitable strategy in improving the application performance to achieve the NFRs defined for the micro services
  • Participate in developing robust Workload patterns to conduct performance testing
  • Tune the application infrastructure to get the optimum performance out of the given hardware and software configuration
  • Interact with different teams and stakeholders like development team, architect team, DevOps Team, DBA Team, Product owners for providing the recommendations and for any clarifications/issues
  • Analyze the performance issues using GC log, heap dump, thread dump, DB Analysis Reports, resource usage data, profiling snapshots, log files etc.
  • Work with development team in implementing the solutions proposed and solving the performance issue
  • Able to integrate performance testing needs for CICD using tools like HP ALM/PC, JMeter, Jenkins etc
  • Must be able to work independently across multiple agile teams at a time while following a formal process. This is a position for someone who enjoys being the go-to person for troubleshooting complex performance issues
  • Should be able to embed in agile process by executing API level tests in the early stage of development


  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related degree.
  • 9+ years' experience in Performance Engineering and testing
  • 5+ years' experience in monitoring, load analysis, bottlenecks detections and profiling
  • 3+ years' working in an Agile Scrum / kanban environment / methodology

Required Skills:

  • Experience and skills in Performance Testing tools: HP Performance Center 12.5X, HP Load Runner 12.5x, JMeter
  • Experience and skills using various VUGen protocols such as Web, Web Services, Java VUser, TruClient-web, TruClient-Mobile web, Java Vuser for Continuous Delivery, JMeter to develop test scripts in C, Java, and Java script languages
  • Experience and skills in testing REST API services
  • Experience and skills in Application Performance Management & Monitoring Tools: Dynatrace Ruxit and/or Dynatrace App Mon and/or App Dynamics and Site Scope
  • Knowledge and experience in testing on Linux and Windows platform and monitor performance using Linux shell commands/scripts
  • Knowledge and experience in testing Application servers such as Tomcat, JBoss or Web Sphere or Web Logic on J2EE technologies
  • Knowledge and experience in testing Database Servers such as MySql, Oracle, DB2
  • Knowledge and experience in testing cashing or big data such as Kafka or Mongo DB or Redis or Cassandra
  • Understanding of application architectures (client/server, n-tier, message based, CQRS etc) and implications to performance testing
  • Working knowledge of using various performance troubleshooting tools such as wiremock, tcpdumps, Fiddler, FireBug etc

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience and skills in using Splunk or ELK
  • Experience and skills in Selenium to develop performance scripts
  • Experience in administering HP ALM/Performance Center
  • Experience and skills in Grafana, Prometheus, Telegraf
  • Knowledge of cloud based dockerized containers
  • Knowledge of Mesos / Marathon frameworks
  • Knowledge in AWS in the area of EC2, RDS, ELB/ALB etc
  • Knowledge of Internet protocols and technologies (Http, Http/2, TCP/IP, DNS, FTP, etc.).
