**Principal Scientist, Immunoscience**







SUMMARY







This position will be part of a Biotherapeutic Engineering and Modality Optimization group (BioMedicine Design) developing biological therapeutics across different research units at Pfizer. A successful candidate will have demonstrated experience in developing biologics in collaboration with Oncology and Inflammation/immunology research units and exhibits good knowledge in immunology. S/he will also have a thorough knowledge and hands-on experience in immunological assays, understanding of immunological pathways as applied to immune oncology and/or autoimmune diseases, project leadership with strong collaborative and communication skills, proactive attitude and an awareness of current trends and technologies.







Responsibilities:







+ Act as a liaison and forge interactions with between BMD and scientists in Immuno Oncology and autoimmune disease groups and 1) help generate hypothesis for biologics validation, design strategy for biotherapeutic development to develop T-cell retargeting modalities, check point modulators, immune tolerance etc, 2) propose combinatorial strategies addressing different pathways where applicable



+ Serve as a Biotherapeutic lead on projects in a cross-functional team setting and act as a champion for the BioMedicine Design group



+ Identify or develop necessary biological assays to aid biotherapeutic discovery and support antibody screening and engineering



+ Contribute to authorship of technical reports for patent applications, IND reports and scientific publications Education and Experience







Ph.D. in Immunology/Biochemistry/Cell biology or a related discipline with 3+ years of research in academia and/or Biotech/Pharmaceutical environment with a record of significant achievements







Required







+ Demonstrated knowledge in immunology as applied to oncology and auto-immune diseases



+ Experience with cell based assays using multi-parameter immune profiling (flow cytometry, luminex etc) and experience interpreting data from such analyses



+ Track record in leading teams in matrix environment



+ Strong interpersonal skills, demonstrated ability to work in a highly collaborative environment and ability to achieve high quality results



+ Ability to work in agile environment and adapt to change



+ Excellent communication and organizational skills



+ Self-motivated and adept at regularly delivering towards deadlines.



+ Strong skills in troubleshooting



+ Take initiative readily and further develop expertise as needed; stay current on relevant literature



+ Should be comfortable leading in a matrix team setting







Preferred







+ Experience in developing antibody-based biotherapeutics



+ Comfortable working in a fast-paced team environment while multi-tasking



+ Ability to deliver impactful internal and external presentations and publications (oral, poster, journals)



+ Enthusiastic about communicating to a broad range of stakeholders (from novices to experts)



+ Curiosity about seeking and applying current relevant scientific literature toward new solutions
