Job Title Principal Scientist, Licensing and Acquisition

Description The Principal Scientist of Licensing and Acquisition will coordinate, perform, and/or lead Drug Safety Research and Development colleagues in licensing (in- and out-) and acquisition-related activities. Effectively represent DSRD on Pfizer-wide licensing (in- and out-) and acquisition-related teams. Keep DSRD leadership informed of ongoing activities in a timely manner.



**Main Responsibilities:**



+ Support DSRD in- and out-licensing efforts and maintain necessary databases tracking in-licensing and out-licensing activities

+ Coordinate DSRD activities with Worldwide Research and Development, and with Business Development

+ Identify DSRD colleagues to support necessary in-licensing and out-licensing activities in conjunction with DSRD Therapeutic Area Leads and DSRD L&A Lead, or may serve as primary point of contact/DSRD representative for licensing teams

+ With DSRD TALs and DSRD L&A Lead, assure that DSRD delivers clear, complete, and timely and scientifically sound assessments of a) nonclinical safety risks, b) potential impact of risks and c) costs/probability of mitigating risks for in-licensing candidates

+ Represent DSRD at in-licensing and out-licensing meetings within Pfizer, and with partner companies

+ Assure that DSRD due diligence reports and potential issues are appropriately reviewed by DSRD management

+ Assure DSRD preparedness for out-licensing, including preparation of DSRD section of data eRooms, and respond to scientific queries on out-licensing



**Basic Qualifications:**



+ Education: BS with 12+ years experience, MS or MBA with 9+ years experience, DVM, MD, and/or PhD with 4+ years experience; DABT or DACVP desirable

+ Broad nonclinical safety assessment experience (toxicology/pathology) from early discovery to marketed drugs.



**Preferred Qualifications:**



+ Experience with multiple modalities (ie, small molecules, biologics, cell-based therapy, gene therapy, etc) preferred

+ Prior experience with in-licensing reviews preferred
