**Role Summary:**

We seek a highly creative and self-motivated computational scientist to develop software in support of oncology Biotherapeutics. The candidate will utilize expertise in computational and data sciences to design and implement data-driven software applications for biotherapeutic target discovery and development. This will include creating systems to integrate and visualize potential targets from internal and publically available proteomics and gene expression data, to design and implement web applications to enable ongoing high-throughput antibody screening and antibody feature management, and to develop tools to accelerate and manage protein engineering efforts.



**Role Responsibilities:**

The candidate will lead software application development.



+ This will include assisting in defining project opportunities, establishing project milestones, identifying creative solutions to project challenges, and efficiently implementing software solutions.

+ Software development will have an emphasis on leveraging and re-using open-source code, complemented by creating and expanding internal code to enhance and automate code behavior. The candidate will also manage and expand existing data management and software applications.

+ The candidate is expected to summarize project activities through presentations to project teams and users. The candidate should ensure successful deployment of software applications, and gather and integrate user's suggestions to improve software, guided by user feedback.

+ The candidate is also expected to contribute to research that leads to publications in peer-reviewed journals, and is encouraged to present at external meetings.



**Qualifications:**



+ Ph.D. degree plus post-doctoral training in computational science and/or biological sciences or related disciplines required.



**Required Technical Skills:**



+ Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

+ Mastery of at least one general purpose programming language, such as C++, C, PHP, Python, or Perl

+ Strong web-development skills in building dynamic web apps with HTML, JavaScript, CSS, and PHP

+ Proficiency with database management including experience with MySQL.

+ Proficiency in Linux development including shell scripting and setting-up cron jobs



**Desired Experience:**



+ Experience in the development of software solutions for system biology, protein or antibody engineering.

+ Demonstrated ability to interrogate large datasets to address scientific hypotheses

+ Expertise with database performance optimization

+ Training in statistics with proficiency in scientific programing using R

+ Familiar with C++ and Perl

+ Experience with dynamic web application data visualization (for example using custom javascript or public libraries such as D3.js and other visualization libraries)

+ Experience with algorithm design and machine learning is a plus

+ Familiarity with PBS/Torque/Maui cluster job scheduling and resource management

+ Familiarity with Git version control system

+ Experience in project leadership and management
