Role Summary:

As a bioassay specialist, the individual will be an integral part of therapeutic research project teams that advances CTI's portfolio. He/she will work collaboratively with CTI personnel, other Pfizer colleagues and academic partners to meet aggressive project goals and timelines. A successful candidate will ideally have experience in at least one area of Immunology, Oncology and/or Cancer Immunology with an emphasis on assay development to support target validation, molecular mechanisms of action, and evaluate drug-target pharmacology.

Role Responsibilities:

He/she will be responsible for developing assays and overall research plans that explore mechanism of drug target activity as it relates to disease pathology, including but not limited to evaluations of potency, pharmacology and efficacy. The candidate will lead as well as support multiple projects across various therapeutic areas with emphasis on Immunology, Oncology and Cancer Immunology. Past experience leading matrixed project teams is desirable, but not a requirement. In addition, candidates with knowledge of drug development and evaluation will be prioritized.


+ Ph.D. in Immunology/Oncology/Tumor Immunology/Cell Biology or related field with 5+ years industry research experience.

+ Experience in cell based assay development; with an emphasis on primary cell assays that link to disease mechanism is desired.

+ Ability to work in a matrixed environment, on cross-functional teams required.

+ Excellent written and oral communication skills as demonstrated by peer reviewed publications, patents and presentations.

+ Desire to work across different therapeutic areas, applying broad biological knowledge to different targets and teams simultaneously.

Technical Competencies:

+ Extensive experience with flow cytometery, ex vivo immunoassays and other cell based assay methods.

+ Background in cell based reporter assays, ligand binding, proliferation, cytotoxicity, cytokine expression, and immune profiling.

+ Familiar with different assay readouts including FACS, DELFIA, ELSIA, Octet, MSD, FRET, imaging, etc.

+ Data analysis, interpretation and presentation in team environment.

+ Experience characterizing and developing therapeutic drugs, including antibodies and fusion proteins, is desirable.
