Primary Responsibilities:
  • Obtain prior authorization or pre-certification of services to be rendered as required by each individual payor
  • Answer incoming telephone calls and triage to appropriate personnel as indicated
  • Complete and manage all paperwork or supportive documentation required for performing effective billing
  • Re-verify patient eligibility, monitor insurance lifetime caps and prior authorization periods
  • Resolve patient / payor issues in a timely manner
  • Work with Managed Care to identify contracting opportunities
  • Participate in Departmental, Clinical and Company meetings as requested
  • Demonstrates interpersonal skills among co-workers, internal departments, and referral sources
  • Participate in required Quality Improvement Program including, but not limited to in-services and educational programs
  • Follow Current Referral Intake Process Flow
  • May assist with training of other team members, as needed
  • Any other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 1+ year of experience working in an office setting using the telephone and computer as the primary instruments to perform job duties
  • Previous experience working with Microsoft Office including Microsoft Outlook (ability to create, edit, save, and send documents), Microsoft Word (ability to create, edit, save, and send documents), and Microsoft Excel (ability to create, edit, save, and send documents)   
  • Prior authorization knowledge/experience
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA requirements
  • Comfortable working Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm with possible OT and Saturdays as needed
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Home infusion, DME, or Pharmacy experience
  • Intake / Insurance experience 
  • Experience with Medicaid and Medicare
  • Medical billing or coding experience
