Position Description:
POSITION PURPOSE
The Procurement Assistant provides administrative support to the Procurement team and contributes to the
Home Depot Direct goal of exceptional service through accurate and timely report development and delivery to the
Procurement Agents.

MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • 30% Provide timely and accurate information on product ETA s and keep product help screens updated. Work the expedited, open PO and ETA reports. 
  • 25% Place special order PO s and confirm all PO s placed by Procurement Agent. 
  • 15% Stay current with new item creation and maintain pricing and linebuy files to allow the Procurement Agent to place new items on order. 
  • 30% Help research and resolve missing or short shipments. Assist A/P in resolving pricing errors and warehouse losses, and key documentation into the system.
NATURE AND SCOPE
No direct responsibility for supervising others.

ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS


Environment:

Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

Travel:

Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must be eighteen years of age or older.
Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.

Education Required:
The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diplomas and/or GED.

Years of Relevant Work Experience:
2 years

Physical Requirements:

Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

Preferred Qualifications:
Strong mathematical skills

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies:

  • PC proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel 
  • Strong organization and communication skills 
  • "Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment, be self motivated, team focused and work with little supervision."
