Procurement Category Manager ANZ Japan / korea Theater GPS Services Team


The Role:


The Procurement Category Manager Role , ANZ / Japan /Korea Theater , is responsible for driving a Procurement & Category Management  operating model that serves Cisco Services with best in class capabilities including Category and Supplier Management, Supplier Development, Business Development, Procurement Operations, Procurement Relationship Management, Contracts Management and end-to-end systems and tools to fully leverage Cisco Services spend and significant strategic supplier partnerships.


Key Responsibilities:


§ Provides program level support for processes, tools, interfaces, communications, change management, and financial operations associated with the hiring of contingent workers and the on-boarding of their vendors

§ Able to drive measurable improvements across the enterprise

§ Interlock with broader GPS function to ensure alignment

§ Drive Supplier / Partner synergy across the services organisations within Cisco Systems

§ Drive innovation and value from suppliers and partners

§ Support the large customer deals from a partner perspective in ANZ : NBN, Telstra, Optus etc and also in Japan and Korea

§ Act as guide for the business in terms of commercial and process related questions

§ Ensure execution of Services Preferred Vendor Porgramn to drive savings and efficiencies across a range of Procurement initiatives e.g consolidation, negotiations, re-location of services delivery

§ Act as representative for sub categories of services e.g technology specialsits , Systems integrators

§ For  Services:

§ Vet and Approve all AS deal partner selections for opportunities in line with process (liaising with other Region architecture leads as appropriate)

§ Manage ANZ Partner landscape liaising with other partner managers to ensure optimal mix of partners to support business

§ Responsible for controlled Partner Additions via RFI on boarding process, or similar process, where the Partner is true multi architecture / general skills

§ For true multi architecture partners take the lead n RFI issuance but liaise with other Region architect leads to determine where partner is represented in terms of skillsets etc.

§ Creation and management of Landscape for Theater requirements such as Generic Rack Stack and Cabling, Security Cleared Resources Multi-COE skilled resources, Generic Program and Project Management

§ Responsible for and managing the Supply Chain metrics; PCOGS savings, PSAT, % of spend with subset of preferred partners, Pricing and benchmarking, Database completion

§ Maintain PSAT expectations and drive Corrective Action Plans where necessary

§ Manage reviews with top 2-3 key cross Architecture Supply Chain Partners

§ Manage any competitive issues with cross Architecture Supply Chain Partners

§ Work with TS and CMs orgasnisations to support and drive compliance to SPVP program and support their vendor management orgasniations as appropriate

§ Leverage Suppliers across the services business units

§ Act as key representative for special initiatives across GPS organisation



§ Explicit agreement on the Partner Landscape with region sales & delivery (IDT and Segments)

§ Agree a subset of preferred partners that would account for 80% of the subcontracted spend

§ Identify and categorize Capacity& Capability Partners

§ Overall size and detail of partner plan and landscape aligned to Region priorities. GTM (bookings) and (partner spend and savings identified)

§ Deliver Quarterly Operations Review content for the Architecture for the designated Region to the PASO Regional Lead

§ Achieve savings targets of > 12% of PCOGS

§ Maintain an average PSAT score of 4.4 and >50% response rate

§ Establish goals of # of total partners per region and maintain to +/- 20%

§ Pricing agreement with 100% of agreed subset of preferred partners, over and above normal RFI pricing return

§ Enhance data base > 80% completion rate for for Preferred Partners for RFI or Company Presentation

§ Benchmarking: Negotiate RFI pricing with 80% of partners > $100K.


Required Skills (in addition to Partner Manager – Practice/CoE Lead Role):


·       Business acumen and influencing skills.

·       Proven business development track record in a partner environment

·       Experience from working in a Sourcing/Procurement/ Supply Chain/Operational environment

·       Experience with Contracts and Agreements and in financial operations in purchasing and payments

·       Detailed financial transactions and reconciliation experience required

·       Multi-tasking ability to work different programs and plans at the same time.

·       Have knowledge of the commercial aspects of the services industry and partner business models

·       Understand the Cisco Services and AS services programs and strategy.

·       Have some knowledge of the various vertical markets in which we operate and how Cisco and our partners can collaborate to grow our businesses

·       Proven experience in product, services and solution delivery and sales models

·       Have good negotiation and presentation skills.

·       Able to work remotely, cross-functionally, and globally with little guidance

·       Executive Presence and Presentation Skills

·       Experience in networking, telecommunications industry

·       Project management experience, skills and/or training

·       Have excellent written and verbal communication skills

·       Must be able to speak and write in English and Japanese

·       8+ years of procurement experience in services .

·       Good skills in developing RFx collateral

·       Able to balance risk and business needs


Desired Skills (in addition to Partner Manager – IDT role):


·       Experience of working in a Professional Services organization

·       Managed a professional service delivery team and/or a service business development/sales team.

·       Has built or contributed to the development of a services business from an early stage and optimally run a successful service practice in a large company

·       Experience of working in a cross functional team

·       Experience of Change management and communications

·       Ability to communicate and collaborate with all levels of the organization and externally

·       Program Management skills


Educational Background Recommended

·       Bachelor's degree, Master's degree desirable, MBA preferred

·       The GPS Services team in APJC manages a half billion dollars of Cisco expenses for services and contingent workers. We utilize best practices to manage the requisition, sourcing, selection, on-boarding, and off-boarding of all contingent workers and their vendors globally. The team also manages Staffing support for employee recruitment.
