This Optum Consumer Solutions Group role is a highly versatile role focused on engaging with the product owners across the Population Health Solutions (PHS) team, the Optum Growth Office and external Payer clients.  Responsible to partner with Payer market Growth Office client executives, this individual contributor will develop and present strategy and solutions to represent PHS’s strategic potential and value to new and existing Payer clients. 

 

The Strategic Payer Consultant will support client relationships, business to business opportunities and innovative clinical solution development for new and existing large clients within the Payer market. They will be responsible for defining and delivering strategies and the PHS value story across all products to internal and external parties. Specific responsibilities to include:

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to gather / analyze / validate applicable data from all sources (e.g., clients, prospects, potential customers) to identify market characteristics / - needs / problems (e.g., market opportunities, trends, user preferences, industry standards, internal product trends)
  • Develops and demonstrates a solid understanding of the competitive landscape (e.g., strengths, weaknesses, gaps, product portfolios, win / loss analysis)
  • Capable and comfortable working with minimal guidance; seeking guidance on only the most complex tasks or where necessary
  • Collaborates with internal or external business constituents to product inquiries. May be project - based and involve working within multiple product functions
  • Engage directly with customers in support of sales and finalist presentations, strategic customer meetings in coordination with Growth Office leadership and client executives
  • Solutioning Payer client needs related to all Population Health Solutions products and delivery, and work with cross functional teams to bring solutions and changes to the product delivery model and value proposition
  • Support the Payer market growth team in their pursuit of strategic clients by providing leadership around PHS solutions and direction to sales and client management staff and strategic deal leads to simplify and articulate an integrated Population Health Solution value to the client
  • Comfortable and capable of influencing stakeholders, listening actively, and speaking and writing clearly
