The Product Manager, Customer Transactional Communication will be responsible for driving projects to support and improve Homedepot.com’s overall customer transactional communication. The manager will be responsible for working with many cross-functional business areas to define priorities, determine project/capability benefits and values, set scope, and define requirements. In addition, this position will be responsible for leading the team through development and delivery of prioritized capabilities, ensuring final solutions deliver desired customer experiences while also achieving the estimated business benefit. The position will be responsible for supporting foundational improvements to Home Depot’s order management system and being the point of contact on all customer transactional communication related efforts. The candidate must have proven product manager capabilities including an ability to create stories / requirements, manage development team backlog, and report out progress to product stakeholders, occasional at executive level. Finally, the Product Manager, Customer Transactional Communication should be passionate about the customer and the E-commerce industry and must have the ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced environment.


Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities:

  • 60% Develop and execute customer transactional communication roadmap based on new and existing business processes to improve overall customer satisfaction and order visibility
  • 15% Support the customer communication needs of Home Depot enterprise initiatives
  • 15% Project management
  • 10% Apply a thorough understanding of the E-commerce industry, its seasonality and global business trends/events. Continually monitor customer communication competitor/industry evolutions


Nature and Scope:

  • Position typically reports to Sr. Manager, Order Management
  • No direct reports


Environment:

  • Typically located in a comfortable indoor area. There may be regular exposure to mild physical discomfort from factors such as dust, fumes or odors, temperature extremes, loud noise, strong drafts, or bright lights.

Travel:

  • Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.


ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be eighteen years of age or older.
  • Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.


Education Required:

  • The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.


Years of Relevant Work Experience:
5 years

Physical Requirements:

  • Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5-7 years in product management and financial analysis is required, preferably within a consumer goods / retail company in the area of customer communication.
  • MBA preferred
  • Proven analytical skills (includes ability to use tools such as Excel and Access)
