The Product Manager Programmatic will be responsible for planning and building out the programmatic advertising platform for Cox Automotive. This position will work closely with third party vendor(s), managing that relationship closely to ensure product(s) delivery is to spec, on time and within budget.  To be successful in this role this person will need to plan, develop stories, and iteratively test to refine the product all the way to launch.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as technical product owner for the programmatic product and lead the scrum team managing priorities and resources.
  • Develop product planning, create stories and work with engineering and creative teams to create product-market fit and scale (with products).
  • Communicate internally and externally progress and noteworthy information around the programmatic product.
  • Be a product expert for programmatic trends, technologies and the space in general.
  • Ideate, test, and verify new features and functionality for the programmatic product.
  • All other duties as assigned.


  • 3 plus years’ experience in product management, product marketing or business development.
  • 3 plus years’ in programmatic experience (Publisher, Agency and/or DSP/SSP).
  • Working knowledge of Adx, DFP, DMPs and/or SSP & DSP systems
  • Experience managing product development outsourced solutions and vendor partnerships to deliver service and/or products for use by the business.
  • End-to-end Product Management experience of software/web technologies at a minimum. Preferred experience with programmatic supply side platforms, demand side platforms and programmatic exchanges.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and drive. An active learner who likes to learn, follow through on ideas from thought to completion.
  • Advanced problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate recommendations and key information to internal teams and vendors.
  • Ability to develop solutions to customer/stakeholder problems that creates value (for the stakeholder and business).
  • Ability to manage large complex issues.
  • Operates effectively in ambiguous situations.
  • Able to work and collaborate with local and virtual resources and team members.
  • Ability to provide well vetted reports, story writing and recommendations.
  • Experience and competency working in agile environments.
  • Must be an excellent communicator, listener and presenter.
  • Ability to work with limited supervision.
  • Experience utilizing user research, iterative testing and data in product development process.
  • BA/BS degree in Computer Science, related technical field or equivalent practical experience.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficient story writing and product planning around a highly complex and technical product.
  • Proficient in the inner workings of demand side platforms and programmatic exchanges.
  • Knowledgeable in engineering, UI, sales (Sales operations), finance and marketing.
  • Masters of Business Administration (MBA) or other advanced degree.
