Tech Leader (Product/Test Engineer), Hardware Engineering

  • LOCATION:                            San Jose, California, US
  • AREA OF INTEREST             Product Engineer - Hardware
  • JOB TYPE                              Full-Time

What You'll do

You will be a technical leader in the Component Quality and Technology team (Supply Chain Operations), who will partner with Cisco’s development engineers in the Central Hardware Group, Cisco’s component suppliers, other Cisco Supply Chain teams and Cisco’s contract manufacturers to perform product engineering tasks on Cisco’s integrated circuit portfolio. The scope of work covers Cisco’s COT network processors, transceivers, mixed signal ICs, and 2.5D SIPs (system in a package), bare die and stacked die.

You will be part of the Component Quality and Technology team supporting new product design validation on first silicon. Your role will include defining characterization plans and generate characterization reports, defining production screening guard-band specifications based upon design intent and characterization results, and transferring new products into full manufacturing release by collaborating with offshore manufacturing personnel. You should also have the capability to write or revise test programs on 93000 test platforms where needed. Your additional responsibilities include manufacturing sustaining support on Cisco’s integrated circuits.

You have the skillset to manage product qualification and burn in testing to Jedec specs, including writing qualification and burn in test plans, and performing root cause corrective action on qualification fails.

Your scope will include liaising with the system bring up teams on integrated circuit verification, and also with design, test engineers and silicon technologist to identify and implement corrective actions on both new and mature products and technologies.

You must have proven ability to perform statistical data/yield/correlation analysis on large data sets from wafer sort to system final test to find yield issues and apply root cause corrective actions to design and test teams. Your role will also be to drive component failure analysis at the system or module, containments, and root cause corrective actions interfacing with development/manufacturing engineering and management to resolve complex technical problems. You will specify data collection and analysis for adaptive testing and work with Cisco suppliers on pertinent analyses.

Who You'll work With

You will collaborate with ASIC design teams in the Central Hardware Group, board/system and diagnostic hardware engineers in the various business units, and within Supply Chain Operations - peer groups of DFT, component engineering, test engineering and packaging in Component Quality and Technology team and New Product Introductions Engineers in Product Operations. You will also collaborate with Cisco’s component suppliers and contract manufacturers.
