Here at our Cupar Manufacturing facility site we specialise in producing a variety of Oat products including Quaker Oats, Scotts and Oat So Simple. The Job
It is an exciting time for us and we continually strive to improve our business performance. Our General Operatives (GO) are a huge part of our operation and work across every area of the plant undertaking a variety of crucial tasks to maintain our high standards.

We are looking to recruit a Production Operative to work in our incredible factory working a 24/7 continental shift pattern (5/7 shift).

You will be part of a busy team who are committed to the PepsiCo brand. In joining this team you will be supported in your role via a team of co-ordinators and you will be responsible for the performance of your zone using our LEAN Manufacturing framework.

Activities will include: Activities will include:
  • Ensuring excellent manufacturing practice through maintaining a Safe, Healthy and Hygienic work place. Working safely and improving safety through plant systems (Near Misses and Food Safety Near Misses)
  • Drive the plant key performance indicator (KPI) targets of cost, quality, service, hygiene and safety
  • Provide Operational Control in all aspects of running production equipment efficiently, escalating poor performance through the Tech and the PSP scheme
  • Monitor, control and carry out basic fault diagnosis and repairs on equipment
  • Taking responsibility for the zone that you work in and the plant in general. This includes good housekeeping and ensuring 5s / Lean standards are maintained
  • Identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing solutions for continuous improvement (CI) and implementation of solutions through the CI scheme
  • Operating using OEE data to improve cost, quality, efficiency and reducing waste
  • Carrying out a variety of physical manual handling tasks as instructed

Salary / benefits:
  • 8.50 per hour excluding shift premium, reviewed annually. Competitive Pension Scheme
  • Shift premium of 23.5%
  • 23 days holiday

A strong mechanical/engineering base required
Can demonstrate a high engineering aptitude
Excellent communication skills
Real attention to detail and a high degree of autonomy
Have enthusiasm and a positive approach to driving performance
Logical approach to problem solving, and proven practical skills on plant equipment
Ability to work on your own and in a small team
