Job Details

The **Production Planner** is responsible for planning delivery of products to provide an uninterrupted flow of commodities, work-in-process, and/or finished goods. This position is also responsible for use and development of the plant activities of buyer/planners and schedulers as directly or indirectly assigned.







**ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES**







+ Plans and controls monthly raw materials and work in progress inventories and expense budget.



+ Creates weekly production schedules and annual volume plans through use of SAP, Microsoft Excel and planning reports.



+ Maintains high levels of customer service while minimizing inventory, transportation and manufacturing costs. Review production line capacities against target inventory levels.



+ This position requires the ability to interface with Site and Corporate Procurement as well as external vendors.



+ Works with support departments such as Validation, Engineering, etc. to establish schedules for project runs to be executed during normal work times.



+ Works with support departments such as Validation, Engineering, Quality, Investigations, etc. to provide data related to production schedules and commodities.



+ Conduct and participate as needed in developing and updating policies, procedures, and training related to the Materials Management Planning group.



+ Conduct and participate in activities to support PRs and CAPAs related directly and indirectly to the Materials Management Planning group.







**BASIC QUALIFICATIONS**







+ Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain with 1-2 years of experience.



+ Bachelor's Degree in Business, Cost Accounting, or Engineering, with 3-5 years of experience in purchasing, manufacturing, manufacturing planning, or production control.



+ Strong computer skills are required: Microsoft Word and Excel, AS400, Monarch and SAP.







**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS**







+ Experience within an FDA regulated environment preferred.



+ Experience utilizing Materials Requirements Planning (MRP) tools or experience in manufacturing line scheduling desired.



+ APICS Certification

+ Adept at performing complex mathematical and analytical calculations.

+ Ability to handle multi-situations while functioning in a complex and dynamic business environment.



+ Ability to successfully meet financial responsibility, obsolete inventories and support business unit operational goals.







**NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS**







+ Ability to support job functions on an as-needed basis after regular hours and on weekends.
