Position Description:
The Production Supervisor will partner with the Operations Manager to manage the people, processes, and equipment of the Aberdeen manufacturing location to meet or exceed customer expectations for service across all product offerings while meeting the financial and operating objectives of the location. This Supervisor will assure that a program for safety is fully supported and includes regular safety audits, employee guidance as to safe work approaches at equipment and in work cells, root cause investigation, and corrective action for any incident or near miss resulting from unsafe actions or equipment.  As a leader in this facility you will instruct the hourly employees under your direction in the processes used for manufacturing quality products on a cost effective basis, mentor and develop the hourly employee group so that they will take ownership for their product and show initiative in developing and implementing improvements in processes.


35% Manage production floor activities - safe work practices, productivity goals standards
35% Associate training, development, coaching, development & reviews
15% Develop processes, procedures methods designed to increase quality/output
15%  Work with location leadership to coordinate activity flow and assure safe efficient operations

Reports to the Operations Manager.  Position has direct reports.


Typically located in a comfortable indoor area. There may be regular exposure to mild physical discomfort from factors such as dust, fumes or odors, temperature extremes, loud noise, strong drafts, or bright lights.
Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

Must be eighteen years of age or older.
Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.

Education Required:
The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent experience in production scheduling in a manufacturing plant.

Years of Relevant Work Experience:
4 years

Physical Requirements:

Requires intermittent periods during which continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking, standing, stooping, climbing, lifting material or equipment, some of which may be heavy or awkward.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience managing others in a manufacturing setting, preferably light gauge metal working.
  • Visible success implementing 5S and Lean continuous process improvement activity such as Kaizen
  • Ability to provide an open setting and an atmosphere of inclusiveness and support which will encourage all team members to contribute to their maximum potential.
  • Exceptional communications skills which will assure consistent effective communication with team members to include hourly staff, site management, senior management, Human Resources and customer support staff.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies:
  • Safety Conscious, hands-on leader experienced in all phases of warehouse operations
  • Change Management Acumen
  • Able to handle multiple tasks and deadlines within a fast-paced environment
