Position Overview

Enforces and ensures effective management of the day to day milieu operations.


Job Functions

  • Is a member of the interdisciplinary team supporting the organization’s treatment program and philosophy and assures the deliverance of quality treatment to adolescent patient and their families.

  • The Program Coordinator interfaces with all program departments to assist in conducting fidelity and program compliance reviews.

  • Under the direction of the Director of Residential Services, the Program Coordinator is inherently responsible for the supervision of all direct care personnel. To include coaching, immediate intervention and re-direction, training and development of performance improvement plans.

  • Coordinates program operation information and communications via Team Leads for utilization in treatment team reviews, placement options and elevation within the program level system.

  • Enforces the therapeutic schedule; ensures residents are completing activities, groups, dining, etc. on time and as scheduled.

  • Ensures the fidelity of the therapeutic point system/level system.

  • Understands and protects systems and policies relating to Milieu operations.

  • Responsible for enforcing program safety and security reviews, verifying patient documentation compliance conducts daily rounds.

  • Works closely with the nursing department and Team Leads to ensure proper reporting and documentation of incidents.

  • Involved in the recruitment and onboarding of direct care staff. This entails participation in interviewing, training, orientation, and evaluations.

Is expected to participate in the tracking of direct care staff training. May be required to become an active  CPR and CPI instructor for the facility

Job Requirements



  • Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field.

  • Minimum of ten (5) years of recent experience; five (2) years of supervisory experience; preferably in an inpatient setting.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Flexible and not easily frustrated in dealing with differences of opinions.

  • Must possess knowledge of therapeutic relationships, therapeutic processes, adolescent growth and development, limit-setting and behavior management, CPI and CPR.

  • Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, lift, grasp, and be able to perceive the attributes of objects such as size, shape, temperature, and/or texture by touching with skin, particularly that of the fingertips.

  • Ability to express and exchange ideas via spoken word during activities in which they must convey detail or important spoken instructions to others accurately, sometimes quickly and loudly.

  • Hearing to perceive the nature of sound with no less than 40 db loss @Hz. And 2000 Hz with or without correction.

  • Ability to perceive detail information through oral communication and to make fine discrimination in sound.

  • Work requires a minimum standard of visual acuity with or without correction that will enable people in the role to complete administrative and clerical tasks and visually observe patients on the unit and in therapeutic activities.
